Well i dealed with this problem in everquest for 3-4 years, after it started to really become a issue i ended up quitting.

The reason SE wont care, is the same reason Sony, Blizzard, Microsoft, and the other developers dont either.. is that every gil seller to IGE makes them money, they representative to transfer the gil to the player who is buying gil is money to them, and every player who starts a level 1 guy and buys plat because they think it makes them special makes them money.

I am not saying SE is bad, but they are just in the same situation as many companies and they have only a few options if they wanna stop it, and they are almost as bad or worse than the problem.

Do you want almost 90% of ALL new gear/items in the game to be no drop from a mob? Almost nothing tradeable cept older items you have right now? That is EQ. With FFXI being item level based as to what you can use, this would make buying for a new job a killer until you reach the level where you can obtain your gear yourself. This kills the economy almost successfully.

The manpower to monitor the Data of gil inventory in any of the hundreds of thousands of accounts as to how much, when aquired, when it spiked, then it was dispatched, is huge. In the middle of that would be alot of innocent players in trouble or banned as well, like what happened in SWG <while that was illegal money/exploits.. kinda the same>.

I dislike the game money for real money situation as much as anyone. Yet i learned to just do the best i could to just play the game as i could and let it go for now. You can fight it, and i hope you all win. I wont judge what your doing. Its your choice as much as IGe's choice is to infringe in the games economy. So best of luck and i hope things work out in this regard.

The people harrassing the CS of IGE is merely a effect of a action started by them. SE is making tons of money either way, and until they start losing money by people leaving the game will be until then that they decide to do something about it. Now dont you all boycott FFXI or leave the game.. cause its still not worth it.



My only other thing is that when the gil farmers get violent.. <and honest farmers are so profiled in this too, and it sucks cause they have done absolutely nothing wrong> just slap it to them with the GM's. I hope your actions get the attention you wish it to. Would be nice to play a Non Yantis/IGE/MYplayerauctions interfered game.






However just one other note... SE also cant really interfere yet because until they start useing illegal exploits in a wide burst.. the gil they are selling is still legally obtained by the games standards and thus they cant take it away.. less you ALL lose all the gil you all honestly earned...

wow its amazing that you people still havent realized that this is a game.

i understand that you may enjoy this game a great deal but think about it if you were in the IGE employees situation and you were receiving hatemail and flooding their chat rooms think about it how would you feel. like people have said they are doing there job.

If you don't agree with it, great, your choice.

I absolutely agree that this has very little chance of shutting down IGE, but with all the different things people are doing to bring attention to it, maybe someone who can really do something about it will finally take notice.

Sure it's just a game, but there's a community that's been created. There's a community created in any MMORPG or even most other types of online games. It's almost automatic when groups of people get together. Game or not. IGE is messing with a large portion of the community that believes what they're doing is wrong. It would be ignorant to think that at least a portion of that community won't fight back.
