        1) GMs are useless.
        2) Gil Buyers/Sellers are the bane to existance.
        3) Because its against the TOS they shouldn't be doing it.

        1) GMs do suck, I never had a reason to call upon one, and I don't really see someone telling you that they work for IGE a big deal to the GMs. Like someone else brought up, I'm sure they have more pressing things to attend to, and if they don't, they probably just don't care.

        2) To tell you the truth, I don't see much wrong with gil buying/selling. So what if people want to spend their RL money on game money. Rather than spend 8-10 hours farming, they spend 1-2 hours working in RL. And to the point that it gives an unfair advantage to them, well, life is not, never has been, and will not in the near future be fair, so live with it. Flamers and Whiners gain more enmity on my hate list then gil buyers.

        3) No they shouldn't be doing it, but why is gil buying such a big deal? Using fraps, or those logger programs, is also against the TOS but people do it all the time and it has become widely acceptable throughout the ffxi community. "Well I don't use those programs", I'm sure you are completely innocent of never breaking any rules, laws, or TOS, so you, my friend, are the one exception. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.

Do I buy gil? No, I don't want to spend more RL money than I have to on a game, I have fun enjoying my time in game and with the community on my $12.95 monthly. Would I buy gil? No, I'd rather spend it on other things. Do I think gil buying is retarded, to some extent yes, but I can understand a person's reasons for doing so.

As for those that would like to debate with my reason, or flame me for my opinions, please send me a PM so that I remember to come back to this thread and respond to your post in an appropriate manner.
I only had one meeting with a GM, and it ended to my satisfaction. I can't really comment on how good the GMs are only because I haven't had enough "experience" with them to make my own observation apart from everyone elses.

The fact that it's against TOS, as well as puts people wrongfully at an advantage over those that actually follow the rules, is more than enough reason to make gil selling/buying wrong. The reason for making rules was to make an EVEN playing ground in a GAME. Sure, life's not fair, but you seriously can't compare the two. Cheat in a poker tournament and see how far an excuse like "Well, life's not fair" takes you when you're caught. Slip the "banker" in a game of Monopoly a fiver for 1000 Monopoly dollars so you can by Boardwalk and see how well the other players take it. It's CHEATING (people should look up that word) in a game, and it puts people at an UNFAIR (people should look this one up too) advantage. In a game, I would think this would be a BIG deal.

From what I've seen, it's always been the gil buyers that are the whiney ones (and in some cases flame) because they don't have time to play, farming takes too long, fishing is boring... Suck it up! And people wonder why I see a lot of gil buyers in the same light as being lazy. They're the one's that can't seem to compete on an even and fair game so they cheat and come up with lame excuses to back it up.

wow i just read this entire thread and you all are wasting your time arguing over people who buy/sell gil for real money i find that amusing. why dont you people just play the game and stop this madness over IGE and gil buying/selling. face it IGE cannot be stopped GMs are useless and fighting over this topic is pretty pointless when you could be in the game farming and getting your own gil or for a select few buying there gil.

what im trying to say here is just mind your own business with this people if they wanna buy gil let them buy gil SE doesnt care its true its always been true GMs have no REAL power its true and buying/selling gil cannot be stopped its true

so now just go play the game and have fun getting your money and leveling up and stop arguing over such a pointless topic as this

It's that kind of mindset that people debating here are fighting against. People who don't care and figure problems will go away if you ignore them. If you want to make points by not doing anything about it, that's your choice. I don't mind the debate.

Yes, that's exactly one of the reasons I am against botting and gil buying. Ignoring a problem won't solve it.

what im trying to say here is just mind your own business
Well, when I come and take your computer from you, I'll just have to tell you the same thingMind your own buisiness, I can take what I want! Oh wait, you'd give a care now. Something you don't need and is purely for entertainment is being taken from you! You'd care then, because it's directly affectig you. Or, if someone was mugging you, and you asked for help, I'll just say, "It's not my business."

I see your point, but the thing is saying "life is not fair" doesn't mean that "FFXI isn't fair" also. Big difference between real life and FFXI is that FFXI is a video game, and rules are placed so that it IS fair for all players. After all, that's why certain bounds are placed on the game so that others can't gain an advantage without any actual work into the game. Then again, I'm not too worried about gil-buyers getting an advantage on me, because of all the "gil-buyers" who posted here, none of them really look like quality gamers, imo. Then again its just my opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own, including you.
Ah yes, I must concur. People play games with groups of people because everyone must abide by the same rules. Who wants to play a game where the other guy has an advantage.
*note*: These are generalizations, and do not apply to every single person. (It's sad when people have to start posting disclaimers to prevent people from miscontruing their points.)
                  a) Gil buyers are jealous of people with lots of time on their hands.

                  b) People that don't buy gil are jealous of those who do.

Who's the one that decides which side get's more of an advantage in FFXI? SE, not third party groups like players and gil sellers. And guess what? They favored the people with lots of time on their hands. If the players don't like the game, they can ask SE to change it, or they can move onto another game that offers more of what they want.

                  Be like a Paladin.
Take the hit, shrug it off, and ask if their mom hits any harder.

i noticed that you mentioned that SE has no way of tracking delivery box send etc.

Well i just logged into FFXI and had a system message that said that the server will be undergoing an 8hour maintance for Delivery Box and Auction House work, don't know what all is going on but, maybe their implementing some tracking system or something??? They said to remove all your AH sale and delivery box sends/receives etc.

wonder whats up, maybe i should check playonline.com >.<
