i have 512 rd800 ram, ti 4200 w/ 64mb ddr, 2.53gh p4, 533fsb
i get 51XX on old bench
44XX-L new
34XX-H new
i don't know why you have such a low score for sure, but like i said before, it's most likely the fx.
TYVM for the reply. One interesting thing I ran into is that while my processor and board both say they run a 533 FSB my BIOS shows the FSB as running at 133. I set the jumper on the board form auto to 533 with no effect. I am not sure if the board is quading the FSB or not. I hope to get an answer from the manufacturer soon.
I think I am going to take my vid card back and get a different one to see if that helps things. The general consensus seems to be that Raedon cards are the best. Do you have an opinion as to whether the ATI Raedon 9600 PRO is enough better than my GeForce 5200 FX to generate enough of a performance boost to warrant another hundred bucks in price? Also, do you have a feel for whether the Raedon 9600 PRO at 128MB is better or worse than the GeForce 4 Ti at 64 MB?
i have a 2200+amd(1.6 i think it is)
512 ddr
60 gig hard drive
the top of my mother board box saz gibabyte technologys agp 8x ddr400+ & super 333 socket A
and my video card is a geforce4 mx420
i got a 2520 low res score 1450 high res score
i have not oc'd because i dont not know how
i was wondering what some of u guys think my best bet for a video card is thats some where around $250 USD
in around a month
Prices are all going to be about the same. Most places are offering a $20 rebate on the Radeon 9600 Pro because the next model will be out in a week or two. I would just go to someplace with a decent return policy or go online. A Radeon 9600 Pro should run you $179 after rebate.
rubik, your fsb is 133, the same as mine, but like mine, it is quad pumped (133*4=533).
since your system rose from a 15xx in high and now you have 32xx, my score will be 4000+ in high when i get my new 9600pro in december.... too bad i have to wait that long..

Yeah, I finally figured out my FSB. I felt better when I realized the RAM was double-pumped too. I was going to try to push for 4000+ with overclocking but I think I am happy with what I have. Both my CPU and case are running right around 40 degrees and I don't want to mess around when I am happy with the framerate. Grats in advance on your 9600PRO - there is a $20 rebate on them until the beginning of December I think.
specs:
athlon XP 2500 Barton
MSI KT4-ultra mobo, via chipset
1gig of pc2100 OC'd to 2700 ram
Sapphire 9500np softmod to 9700pro
winXP, tweaked services
i play with 4xAA in game, and yes, it works. game runs fantastic
This is what I got... hehe...
Specs:
P3 - 1.0Ghs
1.0Gb SDRAM
ATI Radeon 7000 32MB DDR PCI BUS
Score:
1st - 898
2nd - 899
I was just wondering, if I get an ATI Radeon 9800SE 128MB DDR AGP 8x, will it make a big difference?
Also was wondering, is the Radeon 9800SE 128MB DDR any better then the Radeon 9700PRO 128MB DDR?
I'm just not sure on which to get...
Thanks a lot...
