    • any decent computer store should have a nice set of graphics cards to pick from, if bestbuy doesn't have the go card go to a local comp shop and look for it.

the ti 4200 go (for laptops) is much better than the gforce4 go (it's an mmx 420-440, really bad compared to ti4200, but better than 7500). just go to the best buy website and have them ship it to the store nearest you, or to you (this later one will require you to buy it and pay shipping for sure).

                  • first thing you have to do, is tell us your comp specs. if you don't know it, find out then tell us, without that, it's imposible to make suggestions.

                      • what is the speed of the ddr ram(266-400mh=pc2100-3200) and what gforce4(mx 420-440 or ti 4200-4600 or intagrated gf4)?

if you can get someone to find out your driver version, that would help.

                        • ugh...

                          Well, I'm getting an upgrade..

                          My Specs:

                          HP Pavilion
                          Pentium Celeron 1.2 GHZ
126MB of RAM (thanks to my intergrated vid card)
                          Intel Intergrate Graphics Card

I got that Direct3d error.. ohboy.. happy day..

Well, since I'm on a budget... here's my options

                          - 256MB of RAM
                          &
                          - Geforce FX 5200

                          or

                          - 256 of RAM
                          &
                          - Xtasy Radeon 9200SE

Oh yeah almost forgot.. the video cards are PCI... don't care much..
just give me the best option since, well, none of these video cards are even on the official sqaure list of video card and the other one...

                          You thoughts?

And no, I'm not buying a new computer....

                          • what is your budget?
if it can be pushed to $600, you can make a pretty good comp. anyway, you have the "cannot be upgraded" comp right?
if that is the case, your motherboard is already filled up, ram and pci slots both. then you have to get a new comp (it must be done, that case get 2000 bucks and go all out, 2gigs ram, 240gig raid0 hdd config, 3.2p4, water cooling, 9800pro or fx5900ultra)

                            • heh

No... My computer is upgradable.. (two extra PCI slots and an extra RAM slot)
I only can to afford about $180... like $200

The only thing I worry about is if Geforce FX5200 PCI will work with FFXI...

I never, ever get an answer wherever I go.

I just found out recently (like two minutes ago) in an article that the Geforce FX 5200 is better than the Radeon 9200 in related benchmarks and games.

                              Just one question:

                              1. Can I get a good benchmark score with it? and what possible score (if you want to answer)? Cause I'm only getting the 256MB of RAM and Geforce FX 5200.

Believe me, I've looked around and I never get an answer.

I'll praise if someone answers cause time is of the essence.

PCI is so limited, these days...

                              • go with the cheaper one and get more ram. they both are pointless if you have half the required ram. just make sure you disable the intagrated graphics from the bios (and restore the ram allocation). you will need a new comp by mid 2004, so save up some money and get only what you need (cheap video card and 384mb ram so you can play ok)
