Yeah, I'm in the same boat Ray. Hopefully it won't operate strictly on a first-come-first-served basis so we can have a chance at getting in. Missing the initial rush also means we're less likely to have the servers time out repeatedly while trying to sign up, so there's that at least.

Technically NCSoft is only the Publisher.

Plus ANet has indeed said (around the time of the manifesto) that they were in full control of the development. Don't know if that has changed by now.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that ArenaNet stated they had full control over the direction of the game.

First, where, and in what context?

Secondly, then what does NCSoft have to do with it at all? (They are currently the biggest factor keeping me wary about this game.)

OTOH, NCSoft, the parent company, has a lot to screw up with executive decision and meddling, so I wouldn't rule out that possibility.

I have yet to see this company disappoint yet... I want this game so badly...

Considering that they are only responsible for one title-series so far, namely, "Guild Wars", that's kind of misleading to say that "you've yet to see them dissapoint".
