I know what you mean... My Guild Wars 1 account is linked to an email that is no longer valid... :< I can't even unlink it with customer service due to it being inactive email account. >.<

Wow. That's pretty shitty of your brother. That's why I use a ghost mail and just give that to everyone. Easier to control. lol Still quite douchebaggery for that sort of tactic from your brother. <_<

Oh, and apparently my AION account was banned. Since, you know, I only haven't played since August of 2009 or something.

Well that registration process was just a tad ass backwards. I had two guild wars accounts (could never remember the first one) but Guild Wars 2 ended up getting linked to it. While my newer account with all the lovely upgrades is now quite useless. Sigh. Talked to NCSoft and they had no idea what I meant. Asked if my ncsoft login had the link, and they were like "yeah." Aaaaand they are totally wrong. Whatever. lol As long as it's linked to something, I don't care. The older account has my AION stuff and what not on it anyways. Works out for the best, I guess. Just frustrating since I only have GW Prophecies and Factions on that account (Not like I'm going to play it, though. But still.)

The original Guild Wars wasn't that bad. Mostly it just suffered from not being a persistent world, while simultaneously attempting to wear the mantle of an MMORPG.

That said, Guild Wars 2 appears to be a bit more than a sequel. I don't think the two are going to end up playing the same at all. It's like you guys are complaining that because you hated Super Mario Bros. 3, you're all apathetic about Mario 64. It's silly, if you want to dislike Guild Wars 2, dislike the game for what it does wrong, not what its predecessor did wrong.

You aren't alone. I hated Guild Wars with a passion. It just had all of the elements I hated in a Korean MMO.

I plan on pre-purchasing the Digitial Deluxe myself . . . however, still holding on to a healthy dose of skepticism, I'm holding out until the aftermath of the first one or two Public Beta Weekend Events are out in the open, for all the 'net to see.

If it lands somewhere in-between "Disappointing let-down" and "Still WAY too good to be true," you can count me in.

I wanted to get the Collector's Edition, but then they decided it was a good idea to only let GameStop sell it...and then all communications broke down and I decided it wasn't worth the trouble to give my money to GameStop(something I absolutely do not want to do in the first place) when there were massive communications breakdowns between them and ANet over what a pre-purchase entailed.

So yeah, fuck all that nonsense, I'm just gonna wait for a release date and probably order from Amazon. Kinda bummed about not getting the Collector's Edition though.

So have we all purchased our collector's editions? I actually just went for the digital deluxe, mostly because I figure I can buy the other preorder bonuses separately on ebay if I want them. Like that awesome artbook...

Anyways, make sure you've purchased before next weekend, when the first Beta starts!!!!!!!!

I really hope so. I know they'll be selling the normal retail version through amazon, that thing's been listed for quite a while. It's just gonna be such a bummer if I can't get the collector's edition through Amazon. My hatred for GameStop is probably enough to trump my enthusiasm for Guild Wars 2. I don't want to have to deal with that scenario playing out.
