Unless you need a modchipped PS2 for region lockout, I dunno.
Need a moded PS2 to play, and only English is the VA, everything else is in Japanese (I quote someone in saying "If you aren't very good with Kanji, the grids will be a nightmare.") The reason X international's menus were to be switched between English and Japanese was because of the incredibly long time it took to release in Europe. So as an "apology" S-E gave Europe the international version via lazy/cheap "We don't want to have to program 2 copies of the same game" method.

Oh and to be productive, new KH screens: Terra with the Old man (from the FM movie) "I knew you'd come", Roxas "He said he has seen be before", Terra (mostly de-armored) "What have you done with his/her heart?!" and Mickey and Jiminy: "A forgotten password.."

Power Stone should be available on the PSP.

And the next model of PSP should have PSN Network functionality (IE, name and messages) like it's big brother. And more RAM so that I can do things like look at pics and listen to music at the same time, or at least use the music off my memory stick.

So much stuff I WANT in the PSP but they give us other options. Camera? GPS? [smh]..

It sucks on the PSP though. The controls aren't that great, and Powestone 2 simply has too much going on at once.

That game was so much fun though @. @ 4 players simultaniously beating on each other on a moving stage with a fully interactive environment... oh the mayhem.

Sony's confirmed that they have plans to implement PlayStation Network and PS Store into the current line of PSP models. In addition, the PSP-2000 "Slim" model has more system RAM which improves load times.

Anything else major (and necessary) that should have been there in the first place, like a 2nd analog "nub" and rear triggers, will likely have to wait until the next version of the PSP hardware.

MediaMolecule has stated that the public beta for LittleBigPlanet will begin this year.

Kazuo Hirai's TGS Keynote Speech begins in roughly 2 hours, and that will officially kick off the TGS 2007 show. Stay tuned for updates including new titles, the new controller, and updates on coming titles and services.

Here's the MGS4 trailer. If Sony continues as they have been, the english version will be up on the PlayStation Store tomorrow.

Sony Computer Entertainment -- Kazuo Hirai's TGS 2007 Keynote Address

-Hirai kicked off the keynote with sales numbers, as everyone always does.
-Recapped PS2 history, mentioned the 120,000,000 unit install base.
-Mentions that PS2 sales are still strong worldwide.
-Moves on to PSP sales, 26,000,000 units sold so far.
-Mentions a few of the million-seller titles.
-Discusses this week's release of Crisis Core: FINAL FANTASY VII.
-(Not in keynote, but Japanese sales numbers put PSP on top last week, with roughly 99,000 units sold)
-Discusses additions to PSP's use as a multifunctional entertainment device.
-Recaps the announcements of Go! messaging software for PSP, and discusses the history and future of PSP Remote Play via PS3 (single PS3 will be able to host multiple PSP users for Remote Play). More games in the future will be able to use Remote Play functionality for actual PS3 gameplay, as Lair and Manichi Issyo! do.
              -Moves on to PS3 sales.
-Discusses launches of PS3 platform in all territories.
-Hirai states that SCE did not see the sales they had hoped for in the beginning.
-Says that they'd like to "go back to the starting point" by clarifying the PS3 as a game machine.
-Trailer of PS3 titles, old and new. Actual footage of Afrika is shown.
-Announces DUAL SHOCK 3 controller. SIXAXIS logo is still present alongside the new title on the controller.
              -No other external appearance changes.
-Controller will launch in November in Japan, Spring 2008 worldwide.
-Home has been delayed to Spring 2008.
-Will receive a new service titled "DRESS - Everyone's Fashion Entertainment" (lol...)
              -Discusses PS Store Content.
-PlayStation Store content will now be accessible via PC. PSP can also connect to Store via PC.

-Speech has ended, moving on to Nikkei News Q&A Session.

-EchoChrome and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are discussed as being a part of Sony's "simple" games strategy, games that can be both simple and complex.
-Nikkei News interviewer mentions the Japanese price drop that was announced at last year's TGS Q&A session. Hirai states that there won't be any surprise price drop at this year's Q&A, but a price drop is still possible.
-When asked if Wii is a "good partner" for Sony to have in the industry, Hirai says that "it's good to have lots of competitors in the industry." Says that Sony and Nintendo are in the same industry, but are targeting different consumers. Hirai says that one company can't have everything, and the expansion of the consumer base is healthy for the entire industry.
-When asked about Home, Hirai responds that it's a form of interactive entertainment, but he does consider it to be a game.
-Says that Home was delayed because they want to have a proper, worldwide launch and to meet the requests of consumers worldwide, which are very different from territory to territory.
-The final question is about the PS3's processing power, and mentions folding@Home. Reporters are saying that Hirai dodges the question, saying that he can't mention much of the PS3's future lineup just yet.

-The Q&A Session ends. Updates from the show floor will come soon. Various press sites will have eyes-on and hands-on impression and news from new and existing titles soon.

Re: Pai Pai's OFFICIAL Tokyo Games Show 2007 Thread

I'm holding the new PSP right now. And let me say that it is definitely noticably lighter, and the load times are as well (on a game like Monster Hunter Freedom 2, the load times aren't long, but you notice when they're shorter). That and there is an option for caching, meaning it reads from the disk more frequently. That and MHF2 starts reading from the disk when you're in the vicinity of changing zones, so it cuts down on load time also that way.

All this kills the battery life, but allegedly, the new hardware and the new battery counteract this.

Simply but, most of this could have been in the original model, but I have a shirking suspicion that a lot of it was nixed in the interest of battery life.

Next PSP titles I'm getting are FFT:Lion War and Crisis Core. Any other recommendations?

There are too many DS titles to name. I never thought I'd enjoy Phoenix Wright so much.. How many iterations out are there? 4?

If you haven't tried Jeanne d'Arc yet, go grab it. Especially if you like FF Tactics; it's a solid SRPG from Level 5 with great art and story...and it's only $29.99.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 3: Justice for All! (long-ass name) is out in Japan now and comes out soon stateside. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney 4 comes out early next year stateside.

The new Kingdom Hearts titles have been confirmed.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth Before Sleep is an action-title for PSP. It looks like it takes place during the Keyblade Wars, and stars an unknown male protagonist.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days for Nintendo DS stars Roxas and Organization XIII. It will feature 4-man multiplayer.

Kingdom Hearts Coded is a mobile phone game which takes place between the first two Kingdom Hearts PS2 titles...so it's not important.
