I highly doubt Fabula Nova Crystallis will remain limited to one platform. Square Enix has already outlined that they have multiple platforms in mind besides PLAYSTATION 3 and mobile phones. Each individual title, however, could end up exclusive to their respective platforms.

That's what I figured and that's what is going to piss me off.

If the main story is going to be available on the PS3 all of it should be.

None of them are a "main story." None of them are connected, and they all take place in separate universes.

The only similarity between all the Fabula Nova Crystallis titles is the lore of the crystals. Missing out on FINAL FANTASY XIII shouldn't hamper your experience of other titles in the series in any way.

The FFXIII games would actually be the first FF game Nomura's deeper involvments with didn't chuck the theme of Crystals entirely. That always kinda pissed me off how the Playstation games moved away from that.

Sure, we can talk about Materia and Spheres being a kind of crystal, but FFVIII didn't have anything of the sort. the FFIX/XI team got it back on track though, so we're good now.

FFVI just called the crystals Magicite, but that's also kinda where the series start to break formula anyway.

            OMG SPOILARS!?!2

I know its getting old, but a final conclusion could be definetly done, BUT, keeping the legend alive is far more interesting than a conclusion would be. Just keeps you wondering. Things that end are usually better accepted, but who said that has to be the way? No further games, no final conclusion, "what now" may be just what SE is looking for.

They could end it all if they wanted to. And almost no doubt about it they would get more profit than ever.

Now for more discussion about TGS:

I'm pretty sure that if you only play one of them you'll be missing things.

BTW the sphere grid was a good system. Materia worked well and for the most part, I liked the Junction system. The big problem I had with it was as you used the magic you had stored up your stats went down if they were junctioned to anything. It made you not want to use your spells.

That and the painstaking process of drawing every single spell to 99 ASAP even during bosses... that was a huge issue with VIII...

Im not usually one to try and be the UBEREST, but VIII is just asking for it... Easy way to fix this would be to cap the ammount of magic you had, depending on your level, i think.

Am I the only one who thought FFVIII's junctioning system was retarded? Ditto for FFXII's license board (yes, I know it's an oblique reference to the way Judges worked in FF Tactics, but it's still retarded).

I hope neither of these game mechanics ever makes it into another FF game.

You're not alone in thinking Junction was retarded. I don't mind the License Board much. Not my favorite system, don't hate it either.

No the junctioning system is, as far as I know, the most hated feature of any FF game. I liked the idea but the execution wasn't really perfect. I'm usually the only one saying anything positive about it.

I also didn't like the idea of having a finite amount of spells.

As far as licenses in XII, and XII in general, I started getting bad feelings about it as soon as I saw the first city, then the judges, then the way battle was handled. I don't like how close some of it is to TA or XI.

Licensing is ok, the sphere grid was the best out of the funky systems. I am all for good old fashioned levels, myself.

They should have done the license board for the original release like they did in XII International: Zodiac Job System. Pick a job for your character when you get them, they are stuck on that particular license board for the rest of the game. That way you could have your specialized WHM, BLM DRG RDM, THF, SAM etc etc not just everyone being the same damn job.

                            Guesses on KH games:

CoM2: Deals with the one year of Roxas's life
Zero: Deals with Terra, Aqua, Ventus (the 3 Armored characters from the secret movies of KH2 and KH2: FM) and the Keyblade War.
                            Untitled game: ????

halfway into PS3's life cycle? That's another 4 years from now.... orz

Hurray for Katamari back on PS3 ^_^ and about SE: Yah, they're not too thrilled about the system's performance in japan, but at the same time I do believe they want it to succeed. SE is very keen on it's abilities and what they can do with it (they're crazy like that)

I'm still hoping for a good Mega Man game on PS3. MMX8 wasn't too bad, but it's getting old/weird. I'm sick of Capcom's bull shit with the Rockman Series.

The only storyline to ever be even remotely finished was .EXE, and even then Starforce picks up sometime in the future.

How did Wily die? What happened to Rockman and Roll? or Blues and Forte? Did Sigma ever truly die? etc etc... whenever a storyline drags on too long (or they just can't come up with a decent ending) they just jump ahead with new characters and say "screw it" creating all kinds of plot holes.

And now it looks like they may be doing it to DMC (FACT: The Majority of DMC fans play the game for Dante. [end fact] Nero is nothing but a stupid carbon copy with a few new tricks...)

I think the big thing, possibly the problem with FFVIII, was that to really make the junction system sing you really had to play Triple Triad hardcore in between the farming of items and grinding. You had to play that card game to get the most out of the magic and junctioning system.

Quetzecoatl's Card Mod ability, in addition to the fact you could break down cards for spells, was one of the many ways of getting out of battles where you constantly sit and draw spells out of enemies, even though you would still do it from time to time out of curiousity of what the enemy had, or in hopes of gaining a new summon from a boss.

I appreciate FFVIII for being the game that took the series completely off its tracks and turning it on its ear for the first time by not following most of the series tradtion outside of that. The story, however, was complete garbage.

I personally think the best system is still the Esper System, which the Materia system and FFIX followed closely, as did FFTA and FFX-2. The Sphere Grid and License system I didn't mind so much, but I do prefer the characters to have an actual class, you still had Classes in FFX. Auron was clearly SAM/MNK, Khimari DRG/BLU, Lulu BLM/RDM (she had Doublecast early on, which is what Fast Cast really is), Tidus was a WAR/TMG (Time Mage), Rikku was THF/ALC (Alchemist), Wakka was COR/RDM (enfeebling focus on ranged attacks).

The FFXII cast could literally be anything you wanted, yet the system lacked the ability to really make somone a DRG, COR, RDM, BLU or a more true form of RNG.

WAR, PLD, DRK, WHM, THF and BLM were all easy to create, though.
