I never did get my hands on any AD&D stuff, but I did spend a summer reading every 3rd edition book I could get my hands on. My library is fucking awesome.

AD&D Dieties and Demigods is still one of my favorite books they put out. Very good read indeed.

I also enjoyed the Manual of the Planes from 3rd edition and the Dungeon Masters Guide 2 from 3rd as well.

I pine for the days when the writing in the manuals was as good as it was back in AD&D. They really knew how to make a User Manual feel like a legitimate book. Monster Descriptions and ecologies spanned 3-4 pages... not just a half page blurb with an artist depiction covering the other half.

I just finished downloading every single piece of information from the D&D Insider website. I decided to subscribe for 1 month, immediately cancel the auto-renewal... and download EVERYTHING.

In total, 12 gigs... and I had to download one .pdf at a time. It took me roughly 8 hours of multitasking downloads while working today... but it's done.

I now have a nearly limitless supply of material I can use for my campaign... and for any future campaign.

And best of all? Everything I downloaded requires you to subscribe to Insider if you want to look past the first paragraph.

40+ full campaigns... about 5,000 individual adventures and sidequests. Nearly 10,000 NPCs and Villains, around 1,000 Monsters, Gods, Demigods and Demons that aren't included in any of the books you can buy... and just short of 200 unique cities that can be plopped down into any campaign without much hassle.

I'm way too excited to start this endless reading. Talk to you guys next week.

I was about to post about how I managed to eat a 3 pound burrito in under 5 minutes... but somehow that feels dwarfed in comparison.
