I took FB's last interface "upgrade" as a cue to switch to G+ as my primary social networking tool, so I rarely check facebook anymore. I did just now, though, and I saw no invite from you.

I'm thinking I have some massive character-flaw or something, because this is beginning to get a little stale, though realizing that there must have been something I contributed, or over-contributed (Might have been too overbearing?) I suppose is an accomplishment in itself.

Doesn't matter if you do or don't have a massive character flaw, it's only proper to leave your partner before you go boning other people. Unless you're one of those homicidal types, that was a dick move regardless. (Hell, you could argue you should still try to break it off gently with a homicidal boyfriend so he doesn't go berserk when he finds out the hard way.)
