Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment - In RL

Am I the only one that thinks that Yyg is going to be suddenly smoking again after DMing the next D&D session?

I smoke maybe two or three times a year.

Between that and not being able to find my preferred flavor, I don't think I'm in any real danger of becoming addicted.

Yes, the dizzy thing is normal. At least for the first few days. After that it really doesn't happen unless you go without smoking for a while. It's sort-of a mini high in and of itself... although I'm not a huge fan of it.

Also: there's nothing "cool" about holding a cigarette... unless you're a greaser or an outsider. Even then, you'd also need to slick your hair back, wear testical restricting jeans and a 1 size too small leather jacket. Then you're cool. But that's just too much work.

I've only smoked once when I was like 13(?), and I didn't really choke because I was told how to do it "right". So I did, and enjoyed the awful smoke for a few seconds. Felt kinda dizzy for some reason (is that normal?)

Then exhaled and wondered about the sanity of doing something like that. After that episode I never thought about doing something that stupid ever again.

And to this day I still don't understand why people smoke or get drunk or high. o_O

PS > If anything the only fun thing about smoking is holding the cig to try to pretend you are cooler than you really are, but you can do that without lighting the smoke anyway. XD

I'm glad I've never smoked. That all sounds like hell.

All smokers that are now trying to quit have said this before. And I mean that, ALL SMOKERS. Just an FYI...

    Maybe it's just a feeling.

It's probably nothing to worry about.

Recently it's been hard to watch one of my favorite shows (Boardwalk Empire) because of that very reason. Every scene someone is smoking. EVERY FUCKING SCENE!

    This!

Watching that Keanu Reeves movie... what's it called... (IMDB)... Constantine. That movie FUCKING KILLED ME the first time I tried quitting. I forever hate Keanu for it. NO FORGIVENESS!!!

Same here. I quit 8 years ago, I smoke and dipped. Dipping more-so. I went through about a can a day of dip, and in California that's a $50 a week habit. I quit one Christmas holiday when i flew home to be with the family for a week. I replaced dipping and smoking with drinking water and chewing gum. Yyg's right, it never goes away, you just learn to dela with it. I'll still have dreams that I was hanging out drinking with some friends and then smoked a cigarette and I'll wake up going, "Nooo!!!!" Also watching movies where people are smoking can really get me in the mood for one.

Yygy what method are you using?
I think if I quit after a few days I'd be appearing on the news. I smoke for the safety of others.
I wish I had the willpower to do it, I did quit once for almost 2 years but just over7 years ago my life went kinda chaotic and I somehow went back to it. I've tried to quit since but my attempts have been pathetic.

Well done little Taru /cheer !
