At this point, I'm thinking it may be easier to just get the full battery of shots again, it's been 10 years since I got out of the military, after all, and I know I got a shitload back then. Unfortunately, the military didn't give me my records when I left because ... they need them ... I guess? lol idk

Ugh.

So I had to have my mom look up my medical records to get immunization paperwork from fucking 1981 and of course because it's old and record keeping was utter shit back then they're not considered official and acceptable sooooo guess who now has yet another hold on her ability to register for classes.

I am this close to giving up altogether. I am so tired of everything being so fucking difficult for me. I mean come on. I've lived 33 years and I went through the school system (AND THE MILITARY), obviously I've been vaccinated. Sorry that my childhood doctor has been dead for years and the building that used to be there was knocked down and I have no idea what the doctor's name even is to look that up.

Christ on a fucking bike. Where the hell am I supposed to even obtain this information?

Only thing I can think of after watching only the first season but having read all the books is the relationship between the youngest Baratheon and the Knight of Flowers. The TV show makes it very....different (won't give you spoilers, Ketaru) from their relationship in the books. The books never say it isn't there but they really don't hint that it is, either.

From what I've read of the books so far, the show is pretty faithful to them. They made some of the younger characters older since people will find it hard to believe people like Jon Snow and Robb Stark are like 14 even though in that universe and historically, that's accurate. The casting was also really good, as well. Now that I've seen the series and I'm reading the books I can really visualize things, which is awesome.

I recommend both lol.

I'm not watching the show, though I'm coming to regret that decision a bit. Just reading the books. I had no idea they were so long. And, at the rate I read, they will likely keep me occupied for several months.

I really start to like how Sansa develops in the third season. In the second season she is a lot more repressed and fearful but she really starts to grow into herself in the third. I'm also really glad that she doesn't end up with that sniveling weasel (who happens to remind me of Draco Malfoy, if I'm being honest). I think the most poignant scene of hers, to me, was when she took the swig of wine just after the wedding and then started to disrobe in this silent acceptance of what was about to happen. It was just this inner strength that I didn't know she possessed until just that moment.

Just some thoughts. Some of these characters I started out liking then disliked quite a bit, but that one surprised me a little as I continued to watch the series.

And you've only just started. Before long there will be more chapter characters than there are things going on and you'll have thrown books across the room multiple times. And just wait until you've gone years between books and have to look shit up to remember who some people are. First 4 books are great, book 5 drags but I think it should pick up again in book 6.
And you basically nailed it with the likeable characters.

I wish somebody had told me I should be writing a family tree as I go along while reading "A Song of Fire and Ice". As I'm reading, I keep having to think in my head:

Stuff

The book is about Eddard/Ned Stark. He and his wife, Caetlynn, have 4 kids. Well...5, if you count the one that isn't Caelynn's kid. One of those kids, Sansa, is promised to marry Jerkface Baratheon, son of Robert Baratheon who served alongside Eddard in some coup to dethrone the previous ruling family, the Targaryens. The two remaining Targaryens are located somewhere across the sea, planning to marry into a powerful Dothraki family. The Baratheons know about this because there is a spy serving the Targaryeons, but Eddard is not too fond of the spy because the spy also happened to sell slaves while representing the Starks. Robert is married to Cersei Lannister (who happens to be getting it on with her twin brother, Jaime...not sleazy in the slightest!). Cersei also has another brother named Tyrion, who has dwarfism and, thus far, is like the only likeable character in this whole tale. Well...maybe that Stark kid, Arya, too. And Jon Snow. He's definitely sympathetic.

I imagine it only gets worse from here on, so I better start writing that family tree, huh....

The thing that completely shits me off about this whole computer issue is that we were supposed to get new computers in here three weeks ago, and it has kept getting pushed back.

And then my computer BSODs and apparently I'm the only one who isn't in the least bit surprised?

Yes, yes they are. Today our IT guy had to deal with the fact that the share drive for the entire building just up and vanished. Apparently someone either moved or deleted it. I have no idea if that got fixed or not, but a lot of people were grumbling about it on our floor today.

Hope all that was back up somewhere...
