The onus is not on the consumers to stay patient, it's on the company to make a working, polished product. They shove a barely tested, pay-for-beta out into the marketplace you can guarantee people are going to kick up a stink. Especially from those of us who really were looking forward to this game and who were in beta and sent feedback after feedback only to see nothing change. S-E customers have been conditioned in to thinking we should be grateful for whatever scraps they toss our way, somewhere down the line the majority of us forgot we're the actual customers and if a product is shoddy you don't sit silently by and accept it.

ya true. It's a shame that even if FFXIV results in big losses, I don't think SE will learn from its mistakes.
They would just place the blame on something else.

I think the gaming community is too spoiled these days and notorious to slam a game, even a growing mmorpg still in its early stages. Ya instant gratification attitude and unwavering expectations can be bad, mew. Ya its true SE is part to blame for the negativity, but unlike a single player RPG, FFXIV can fix and get better over time.

If this negativity keeps up, the consumers would be the ones that lead an mmorpg towards its doom, not the mmorpg itself.
And that would result in FFXIV maybe getting cancelled and not being able to get much better just like FFXI had over the years despite criticisms.

But ya it depends how big and influential the consumer rants and attitudes become that might affect things, or maybe they won't affect things at all. FFXIV may lose a lot of subscribers, but may win some back or new subscribers as it fixes thing and adds more stuff!

If only the consumers stay patient and give FFXIV time to improve (negative input can be good to help SE move in the right direction. No complaints leads to them thinking nothing's wrong.) then it could give XIV time to improve and then things will get better, more people will be interested, and then it would win more subscribers!

But ya it might be too early to call armageddon on FFXIV just yet, mew. There is still the PS3 launch, and that might determine whether or not FFXIV will continue.



I think the quality of the PS3 version will be much better than the PC launch. So I think that will be a positive start that will help FFXIV continue and improve over the years.

The thing is that if SE will continue to make decisions with half covered ears, instead of re-evaluating what makes a FF mmorpg fun and inviting. Crafting is certainly not the answer.

Views to counter my own views? I only explained the reasons why SE made the choices they did. You, on the other hand, wanted to personalize that issue with me. If anything, it seems like you have an agenda against SE and then anyone who would even dare to say anything (not to defend, but just to explain an issue) that seem to lend support to said company as either an idiot or someone who doesn't have anything of substance to stand on.

lol Vanguard. I remember the first time I quit FFXI, it was because the lot of us were going to play Vanguard. Than a handful played the beta and it was so bad, we all resubbed FFXI.

Vanguard is ... ? According to what I've read about it, it's some vague MMORPG that came out years ago and have barely retained a few 10s of thousands of players while struggling with a lot of problems. So much more than even Warhammer. And Warhammer had some major issues.

Not sure why jumping is a big deal here with you. With just about 40,000 other probems you can talk about with the game.
