I'll have mine with tea, thank you very much.

I'll make sure to remind TM to make a poll when the release date gets closer. As for now, I'm eagerly waiting to see how they're handling beta. First thing I'm getting after I settle on this accident is a PS3, then we play the waiting game.

Oh yeah, PS3 for $400 is cheaper than getting a new PC, FYI.

Even if you got a graphics card for ~150, there's still RAM to take into account ($50-50) and it's unlikely that people have Quad Cores (but maybe next year they'll be cheaper).

All in all, starting from scratch, buying a PS3 for $400 + FFXI for $60 honestly seems like the cheapest choice.

I know damn well that my computer can't even handle FFXI in Dynamis...
ya, I'm getting a PS3 myself. after the 6th x360 I'm just fed up with the rrod.

Hopefully we can play FFXIV without needing the disk after installation. that's another reason why I like playing FFXI
on ps2 instead of Xbox360. if anything happens to the disk, I can't launch it! I prefer just having the disk as a backup.

Oh yeah I wonder when the beta will start for North America? it could be the earliest chance to try it and help report any glitches! and they said the beta period will be longer than before, this could lead to a more polished launch.

that would be sooo funny! and fun. You'll know it's us from the website if we /poke you no less than 2 times. :p
Anyone think the servers will have the same names? Or the names might be based on something besides FF summons?
The scary part is trying to choose the right server that has the most good people, while at the sametime, not the biggest population. or the lowest population. It will be hard to gauge just by server names. each server will have its own mix of fwends and jackasses. Hey I know! maybe FFXIonline can make a poll and decide which FFXIV server will be the official
server most of us would join There could be cookies at the celebration!

I definitely want to be on the same server with TGM and TM. Murhpie can come along too for the hell of it (mostly because we need a minority in the mix. Nothing like having a homosexual tell you that your Mog House isn't fab enough, then takes you on a shopping spree).

    :-D

I have great fun with the people I play with, but I really like the DiV community, and I'd love to post here with fellow players, and have a Blog-Ring of sorts with 5 or more people so that we all talk about the same events, but from different perspectives.

Most of the people I roll with go to BG or don't blog at all. There are no blogs of people on Gilgamesh that aren't end-game/assholes. :-/

[/COLOR]Moving on, the general consensus is that a lot of "end-game" players aren't willing to sacrifice "all their hard work" to jump into a new game.

Unless I was mistaken, what really separates FFXI from any other game?

It's as if people don't realize that this is just another game, that just has a WHOLE lot of shit that other games don't.

It's no different from paying to play a really huge (liek xbawks) game, albeit, with a glorified chatroom.

But to each-his-own, I suppose. I was recently thinking about actually fishing for a Lu Shangs, and when I heard this announcement, I quickly realized that I've been losing interest in FFXI for a while (too much to do, too little time).

So maybe that's the source of my happiness.

FINALLY, A KILLER APP FOR THE PS3!!! (sike, I just needed A REAL EXCUSE to get it, but FFXIII Versus was going to be my reason anyway).

Also, lol everytime someone says "my character". We pay SE for the rights to control an avatar. They can do what they want with our characters at any time for any reason.

I'm scared to even mention FFXIV in my Linkshell because it might offend someone the wrong way, or make the wait more
painful to them and they just don't wanna hear about. well lately they have been quiet about it but I'll see what they talk about tommorrow and then jump in if they mention anything.

But I think FFXI veterans, or some of them, will move to FFXIV easily and with much anticipation, just like there are already WoW players packing their bags and waiting for the green light to start playing FFXIV next year! Some may refuse to let go of their hard work, but most can't resist experiencing the "next best mmorpg", including those that didn't have the patience,
time or tolerance to reach the level cap and make it to endgame activities. This time they will be pretty even with everyone else at launch, and massively more options to team up with people and work together, so it won't be like LS these days where the endgame members do their thing, and the newbies are left to fend for themselves most of the time.

FFXIV will naturally draw in all kinds of subscribers,
    FFXI veterans,
    WoW veterans,
    MMORPG newcomers,
    MMORPG veterans,
    curiousity seekers,
    friends and family, etc. etc!
especially those that missed the launch of FFXI. I have yet to experience an mmorpg of this quality first day!

Wasn't completely directed at you WM. A couple people here have made it their new mission to call me out for being elitist or something, I don't know. It's getting to me. But I also go from 0-bitchy really fast so ... yeah. Needz anger management. And hugz.

What the fuck is with people here lately? Every time I turn around someone is making an asshole comment to me, and frankly I'm tired of it.

Totally not my intention. Sorry that people are assholes; the internet has a habit of making them all show up en masse.

    Oh!

How about we all figure out how the hell to get into Beta so we can all play together!?!?!?!

I, for one, am going to be stalking Lago from Day 1 >_>

Well if you didn't read it fully then you have no real right to comment about it. I have no problem paying for this game or any other, but throwing shinies at me in attempts to get me to spend more of my RL money - which I actually do give them a lot of already - was kind of a dick move. Satchel should have been in an update, not bundled with a RL item I had to pay extra money for.

And glad this thread is TOTALLY about going over this argument again, right? Stop fucking bitching at me over something that you didn't even interpret correctly to begin with.

Jesus, the more I come here lately the less I like it. I'm sick to death of reading some of the stupidity and dickheadedness on BG, but at least there every little comment I make that OMG MIGHT be interpreted as being elitist in some fucking way isn't picked apart and thrown back at me. What the fuck is with people here lately? Every time I turn around someone is making an asshole comment to me, and frankly I'm tired of it. I don't go out of my way to piss anyone off here. Excuse me for being in perhaps one of the top HNMLSes across all servers and taking pride in that fact, seeing as I worked my fucking ass off to get there in the first place. Next you're gonna tell me that because I don't want a DNC main healing my party I'm an elitist bitch. (And yes I really got that invite yesterday, turned it down. Especially because they wanted me to tank, too, on WAR...) Yet I'm the bitch because people are stupid and I don't take any shit?

Fuck it. Seriously if you want to bitch at me do so in PM, I'm tired of the open blasting of me and my practices on this forum. I enjoy the way I play the game, I'm having more fun now in Excellence than I did for the past few years I've played this game so I don't know why people have to make such a big deal if a comment I make is not cuddly and nice. I'm not cuddly and nice and neither is endgame and that sucks to deal with but it's how it is.

This goes to anyone who has been giving me shit lately. I don't talk out of my ass and I don't intentionally put people down unless they really deserve it. I know how the game works and I know how to do a lot of things. I've been more than helpful to people on this forum, I've voiced more than my share of positive and negative opinions and I've had just about enough in the shift in how I've been treated here lately. If you feel I've personally insulted you for anything at all then you can bitch me out in a PM and chances are I'll apologize, but last I checked I was friendly to everyone here up until some recently started being dicks to me.

Right. Misread it. It was a long post and I didn't really pay attention [http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/new...ml#post832523].

I think the text in my sig is too big.

    My apologies.
I said that might be the problem for some to afford the $10, as I have been there in the past, and I also am fundamentally against the idea of paying real life money for an in-game item. I think it's pretty fucked up that I had no intention of buying the damn thing to begin with but they snaked $10 from me by giving me 80 extra inventory spaces I desperately needed.

So if you see that as an objection to paying for the game, then yeah, guilty as charged, but it was a much higher issue than the ten bucks.
