As a WHM75 and an up-and-coming RDM, I've seen this problem even in my own LS parties, - Many NA RDMs take the job because they find it's the best job to play, and because it's so easy to just pick up a sword and go solo, not realizing how much different RDM plays in a party; Then they find themselves falling behind when it comes to casting necessary spells and complaining about not being able to fight.

I'm 4 levels away from getting Dispel, and I'm already finidng that I have absolutely no room to do what I originally wanted to do with this job before 41. The job is much more mage-oriented than I expected. Thankfully, with all the time I put into playing WHM and learning my cast timing and which spells to use for a given situation, I think I'll be changing up my strategy a bit.

I have read this with interest, and I have to agree, unless you have main healed a tp burn party, you have no idea how pheonominally difficult it is. I hate it unless I get my ls bard, or a friend to come with me - otherwise I can't guarantee even getting Ballad on me at all - I have had some truly awful parties where the bards see you in a vermy and expect you to be able to cope with 4 (or 5 if you get sanction refresh) mp a tick refresh.

I personally now go with a group of friends to the trolls - easier xp, still rolling in 8/9k an hour - and more to the point, having fun while goofing off. Talking about sex/films/anything at all while getting good xp > chaotic stressful time.
