Yeah im kinda leveling WHM now and my friends use my jobs when they want to play a little so i get crystals fairly well. I think when WHM hits level 15 I will switch back to Thief or Monk and kill stuff til around level 10-15 and switch again if I still dont have enough. I just hate halting the leveling process but I geuss it gives my brother time to catch up.

Anything that you can consistantly bind and sleep is soloable by a blm. This also implies that it is soloable by rdm as well

However, if you can't sleep it, it becomes much harder, aka moldavite earrings.

asharu, man, everyone is dying for you just to tell us what you do, even if you can tell us "NM" or "-ga" and like the first letter of their name or something, i mean for gods sake, are you that evil!? everyone plays this game to have fun, but by you not telling us where to go do this we cant lvl, so we cant have fun (unless you lvl with not up to date gear + spells + no food). So please pretty please with a cherry on the top, tell us!!!!!!!

Do spells wake sleeping targets or is it only a melee attack that wakes them? Back on topic, I was fishing last night and broke 2 rods within seconds of one another and quit fishing again. I decided I will just do some repeatable quests for some slow Gil income and Fame til I can get Drain then move to Bastok and do the same til I get Warp then start leveling again. By then I should have enough gil to get some spells and equipment. Good idea, bad idea?

Stuff you can do on sleeping mobs:

Slow, Paralyze, Silence, Blind, Aspir


Stuff you cant do:

Dia, Poison, Bio, Drain, and anything that deals any sort of damage (Melee attacks, damaging spells, and stuff like Frost, Burn etc also)

repeatables usually cost you gil to complete (like bat wings or rabbit hide) so they're not a good way to generate income...however, if you're willing to spend time to farm up the quest items, then i suppose that would work, although it would be REALLY slow until u can kill mobs for better paying quests (old quadavs, tigers).

if you don't mind investing a bit of gil and lots of time, you can raise both bastok and san d'orian fame at once. simply buy cabbages from the regional vender in southern san d'oria and turn them in in selbina. this might be quite a trip since you don't have a chocobo, but it's an easy quest that comes at minimal gil loss...with 0 fame, you'll lose about 4 to 5 gil per cabbage (5 cabbages per repeat). after 2 inventory full of stacks of cabbages, you should have enough fame for both drain and warp.

for generating income, i suggest simply farming for drops. ranperre's tomb has tons of bats and if i recall correctly, bats are a fairly decent source of income, with a stack of fangs going for about 1.5k and wings going 2.5-3k and if they are still EP, you can get wind crystals. these are very weak and can easily be meleed by a black mage...having a white mage sub should let you go for nearly forever before having to rest.

I wouldn't recommend soloing unless you're level 74-75 BLM with RDM sub. A RDM at the same level could possibly solo too, but I haven't seen it done yet.

How do you get San d'Orian fame by buying Cabbages and sending them to Selbina? I can see getting Bastok fame but San d'Orian. Well i will definatly do what you said, buying the cabbages and killing bats for sure. I just want enough gil to get my new equipment and a few spells maybe til like level 20- 23 spells. Then I have to finish leveling WHM and find a place to train til level 20. I will do some of that stuff tonight, I just wanna finish the Lufet Salt quest and then go get Drain then try and get Warp. Thanks alot guys.

Do you bother with Ancient nukes for the ele debuff they offer or do you just Thunder 4, sleep, thunder 4, sleep, thunder 4, sleep, med, etc :D

What good does soloing nms at 75 do for the lvl 50s blm trying to afford elemental staffs etc. ?

Or the 30-50 blm trying to get 15-30k spells as well as equip?

I joined the carpenter guild as soon as i started the game so im lv 8 now and sell tables and stuff and make my own weapons that is how i make money

raising bastok OR san d'orian fame also raises your fame in rabao and in selbina. it works the other way as well, raise your fame in selbina or rabao and you'll raise BOTH san d'oria and bastok. after turning in 2000 cabbages or so, i had both cities maxed out.

Wow ok. Can you acctually check your fame somewhere? I will do that tonight after I get my Warrior friend, Syphus, his level 7 stuff which should be real cheap. Then i will get a stack of cabbage everytime i come back from hunting that way I still get gil for my own equipment. You guys haul ass.:spin:
