Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
So the numbers that the formula is applying to these "zones" is referring to the Recipe cap... or the floor? It doesn't say.
For instance, if the range of a recipe is 47-54... 54 being the cap... I assume that the "Prime Skillup zone" is referring to the cap... and as such... the range of 49-52 for that recipe.
Am I getting that right?

Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
i follow this a lot
that formating is kinda ugly...the full page is n gamerescapes somewhere though if you need itNow for the "X". This is the result of the formula, and below is what you can expect from various numbers.
The Redundant Zone: < 1
• Skill ups can be harder to attain.
• The recipe is too easy to improve your skill.
• Just too many factors helping you succeed, so no chance to learn.
The Success Zone: 1 - 2
• Very good rate of success.
• Skill ups will happen, but some will be lost due to the recipe being easy to your current skills.
• Best used when the recipe is break even or profit, and/or when the ingredients are expensive.
The Prime Skill Up Zone: 2 - 5
• Very good rate for skill ups.
• Failures will happen, but at a fair trade off for skill ups (in most cases).
• For anywhere from 7/8-1 levels from cap, it is fairly easy to get the "X" to be in this range>
• You still gain skill on breaks
The Difficult Zone: 5 - 7
• You do not gain skill on breaks
• Supplies better be cheap, or you will be digging yourself into a hole.
(Edit: this is not correct: You still DO gain skill-ups if your nominal skill (the one that shows in your window) is 5 or less below the cap of the recipe.) (**Edit: Clarification. When you are 5 or more levels below the craft (advanced synth and skill items added), You can get skill ups if you succeed in making the item. However, if you break the item, you will not get a skill up.
The High Risk, Low Reward Zone: > 7
• Only for the case that each other recipe will give you en even higher loss
• Please move onto another craft/recipe before wasting your gil here.

Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
sorry, i should have elaborated a bit lol.
you can only skill on breaks if your w/ 5 levels of the cap. So if your at 62 or 63 on a 69 cap, you wont skill on the breaks until you hit 64.
Which is why i used macrons at 62 for Etas. higher success rate on a recepie i'd fail often on.
probalby stupid to start on etas that early, but i had plenty of materials at the time...and needed the pet food.Last edited by Romyro; 10-10-2012, 01:54 PM.

Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
This is wrong. I've been getting skill ups off breaks yesterday and today. I've actually gotten quite a few since I keep changing my recipes as soon as I'm 1-2 ranks away the the next one.Originally posted by Romyro View PostIt was good to use at 62 since you cant skill off breaks either.

Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
For skillups, it’s really hard to tell for me if it’s working. But I did certainly see a lot less breakage when I was doing Etas at 62-63 (cap at 68). It was good to use at 62 since you cant kill off breaks either. Didn’t use it much after Etas because the next synths were pretty cheap and didnt want to waste them.
Also…I was quite amazed when I hit 72. I went from 71.0 to 72.0 in 14 synths (no macron or anything). I nearly shit my pants seeing 8 +.1s in a row off a recipe that caps at 72.
Maybe fluke?? Was a full moon though. I’m not sure which superstitions to believe when it comes to crafting.

Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
The guy skilling next to me last night stood up and ate one of these... then went right back to crafting. I was wondering if there was any validity to it. I tried asking him and he snubbed me. Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot!Originally posted by Romyro View PostGrab a stack of Kitron Macrons if you’re doing a craft ~5 levels apart.
It’s said that it improves skillup rates, improves success rates and lessens HQ rates. Which is nice for skilling up.
As for advice on recipes... I'll hit you some when I get closer to your level. I'm still below 50.

Some advice I got from rook. Grab a stack of Kitron Macrons if you’re doing a craft ~5 levels apart.
It’s said that it improves skillup rates, improves success rates and lessens HQ rates. Which is nice for skilling up.
I wish I could skill up cooking while at work
/jelly!!
I’m about to start on Pet food Thetas
. Just hit 72 the other night. My personal goal is eventually get into upper 90s to make Dawns, but if you’re gonna get to upper 90s…might as well shoot for 110…right?
There’s a couple of BEAUTIFUL synths in the higher levels.
I planned out my route to 110
In case you haven’t, hope this help
72-78 Chocomilk
78-81 Pamana au Lait
81-86 Marron Glace
86-88 Crimson jelly (not sure about this one)
88-91 Shadowy Broth (not sure here either…that’s a lot of dragon meat)
91-97 Dawn Mulsums
97-100 Kitron Juice (been saving some Kitrons from VW battles)
100-103 Walnut Cookie
103-105 Dragon Fruit au Lait
105-107 Himesama R. Ball
107-109 Dragon Tank
109-110 Smoldering Salisbury Steak
Please please PLEASE let me know if you got any better/cheaper ideas.

47.9. Leaving for work. I'll continue this progress later tonight.
My goal is to hit 65 by this evening. I think that's realistic.

Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
It’s actually not a bad money maker if you’re getting ingredients on the side.
Whenever we farm Sobek pop sets, we build amber and cleave Apkallus. Get tons of egg (which can be expensive). The rest of the ingredients are pretty cheap.
Or lizard eggs too.
It’s no Dynamis but it’s some nice pocket change here and there.
If you plan on going higher than 60, start saving those Dragon Meats you get in gold chests
I finally got a full stack just the other day.

Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
Soloing vnm t2 just depends on the job. but any stander DD and semi healer should be able to handle.
Although the leech and heckeye are annoying as hell..
Upgrade to a colorful then try a shout or 2 in Jeuno. Sometimes you’ll get a few people to join and chances are they have colorful too.

Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment
Finally finished Trial 155 (took around 9 hours. I got "lucky"). I think it's safe to say lottery spawn NM's that may spawn within 1-8 hours is awful. So glad I'm up to the VNM's, as I've been hearing decent things about them. That said, I don't think I will be able to solo these NM's. I still need to beat the Tier 1's until my Abyssite evolves (and Raker Bee was pretty mean to me).
