    Re: Post your Best/Latest Accomplishment

So I been thinking about Final Fantasy XI lately. How, in 3 months, it'll have been a year since I last played. I don't have much impulse to play anymore. And any I get is sobered by the realization that the people I used to play with don't play anymore...

    ..

..But I did find this! And, to date, getting on this list is still one of my Greatest Achievements. Just randomly thought about it. This Feiwong/Feimatsu/Batsu/othersockaccount episode lasted for a few months.

Final Fantasy Xi Mod -> FFXI List of flamers

I remember, in Ballista, he once spazzed because he was on PLD and used Invincible. Then some mages nuked him. He GM'd them because he thought they hacked since he didn't know you can still take damage from magic while Invincible.

But mostly it was him accusing my LS of cockblocking him from getting Ballista chevrons and hiring JPs to kill him over and over.

Or stalking me in Whitegate and checking me 3 or 4 times in a row. Then telling me he will stop at nothing to get his revenge...verbatim.

PvP (Ballista) Ls Ganballistar Warning. - Killing Ifrit - a Final Fantasy community

It'll be a quarter year I will never forget, where one day was just one new bout of hilarity after another.

Finished decorating (for now). A few things are going to be changed eventually. For instance... I hate those dividers... I wanted the white ones. Sadly... there were none on the AH at the moment. Also: I want to get another bookshelf or 2 and rearrange them a little differently. Lastly, I need to buy some plants and other various decorations to make it look a little more "lived in" and a little less "museum". But it's a work in progress. I'm also open to suggestions, feel free to critique.

    Welcome!

Oh, you had already finished assembling your first mannequin, then.

    Never mind.

Well the quest was flagged... but that was pretty much it. It required that i go to Tavnazia and talk to the studdering guy who's building a manequin replica of his dead wife. After a short CS where he asks me to help him bring the manequin to life so he can see his dead wife move again... I had to talk to some other NPC on the floor below who instructs me to go into the Aqueducts. After navigating around without a map, I finally found the ladder (@ C-10 on the second map) and got the CS I needed to progress. The next step was to go to Mis. Coast and find the ??? near where the river ends (F-6 or something) and obtain a KI that I need to bring to the base of the waterfall (C-4?). At that ??? there's a CS where...

if you don't want to know

Afterwords I clicked the ??? again and got one last CS in which I received a KI "Better Humes and Manequins"... clever. The last step was to bring the KI book to the NPC in the goldsmith shop in Mhaura (Fyi somethingsomething) and she offers to pose your manequins for you for 200gil each.

    Your options are severely limited.

    Bastok Salute
    Windurst Salute
    San d'Oria Salute
    /sit
    /hurray
or "Special Order" <--- This one is different for each Race and Gender combination. The ones I saw were Hume Male (Crouched on the ground like a track runner ready to launch), Taru Male (what appears to be... singing into an invisible microphone?) and Taru Female (Shantotto Laughing).

    New accomplishment:

I was browsing the Official Forums today to find that there's a mog house decorating contest going on. I have no intentions of participating... but it made me kinda want to decorate mine just for the lulz.

So after looking at a few of the pictures of other people's setups... I noticed that a lot of them had their Manequins in poses. I had no idea that was even possible... so I looked it up. Apparently I had at least begun to do the quest at some point, because the prerequisite quests had been done, the quest was flagged and I was half finished with it. So I figured "what the hell", logged on and banged it out. I positioned my Hume Male in "Salute" and dressed him up in full Corsair AF3 with a Joyeus. I positioned the Taru Male in "Windurst Salute" and dressed him in full Puppetmaster AF3 with Afflictors. Lastly, I positioned the Taru Female in "Custom Job" which makes her look like Shantotto when shes laughing (lol) and dressed her in full White Mage AF3 with a Hope Staff.

Later tonight if (I could be bothered to put in the effort) I'm going to buy a few other items to doll up my house and make it look all spiffy. I'll post pictures of the final product if and when I get it done.

The manequins make it look a lot better now that they're all dressed to the nines. No doubt about that.

You lose all your feathers when you enter the Odin fight.

    Example:

You, me and 4 others go into Odin.

    - I have all 9 feathers.
    - You have 5. One is from tier 1. One is from tier 2 and the other three are from tier 3.
    - Everyone else has 1 from each tier for total of 3.

As soon as we enter. All feathers are consumed. I lose all 9, you lose all 5 and everyone else loses their 3.

BUT DON'T WORRY!!! Once you've killed Odin at least once, you can PURCHASE feathers using inchor... assuming youre not stockpiling it towards a mythic that is.

    Exchange rate:

    Tier 1 Feather = 1000 inchor
    Tier 2 Feather = 3000 inchor
    Tier 3 Feather = 5000 inchor

    - - - Updated - - -

Let me elaborate a little further before you get ahead of yourself with excitement.

In order to reserve chambers in Einherjar... you used to have to have all 3 KIs from the previous tier first. In other words, if you wanted to reserve Tier 2 Chamber 1... you needed to have collected all 3 Feathers from Tier 1 first. The same went for reserving Chambers on Tier 3. This is still the case... but with one major exception. If you have previously killed Odin or are at least in possession of 1 Feather from each Tier, you can check one of the 2 glowing spots on the ground near the gate to receive the "Mark of the Einherjar" KI. This KI, unlike the feathers, is permanent and allows you to reserve (enter) any of the 9 chambers without fulfilling the aforementioned prerequisites.

Effectively... Mark of the Einherjar is what allows you to do:

    Tier 1 / Chamber 1
    < 3 day wait >
    Tier 2 / Chamber 1
    < 3 day wait >
    Tier 3 / Chamber 1
    < 3 day wait >
    Odin or Odin v2

In total... 9-10 days to get to Odin if you're punctual with your entry times every 3 days.

But again... to obtain the Mark you first need to have Killed Odin and gotten the "Elite Einherjar" title... or be in possession of 1 Feather from each tier.

ALSO: The Mark is what allows you to buy Feathers as well. You buy them from the same NPC in Nashmau who sells you the lamps.

    You're welcome!

    How it used to be:
    - 1 Person would need to collect all 9 Feathers to access Odin
    - Everyone else participating would need at least 1 feather from each of the tiers... 3 total.

    How it is now:
    - Everyone participating only requires 1 Feather from each wing.
    - The same goes for Odin v2
can you find out if you lose ALL feathers? if so...imma stop farming the first wings. would suck if i lost all 9 and someone else lost only 3

seems odd that someone new to Einherjar can get to Odin after 4 runs...but thats cool i guess.

Another Einherjar Win. This time Tier 2.

I also learned something valuable from one of the guys in the Pick-up. As it turns out, there were more changes made to Einherjar than just adding Odin v2. Apparently they did away with having to collect all 9 feathers to fight Odin. Now it's just the same as anyone who previously wanted to fight him, 3.

    Badass.

Additionally I finished my THF merits.

    5/5 Feint
    4/5 Assassin's Charge
    1/5 Aura Steal

Now all I have left to merit are the Attributes... which I have decided to distribute like this:

    12/12 AGI <--- Currently at 12/12
    6/12 STR <--- Currently at 5/6
    6/12 DEX <--- Currently at 1/6

Skilled Automaton Magic Skill to 320
Skilled Automaton Melee Skill to 165

Adventuring Fellow leveled to 72... gettin there. Sucks that the levels are getting harder and harder to obtain. 1 level is roughly 50 mobs that proc as DC to me at 99. Even with my fellow by my side, that means nearly an hour for 1 level. No more mindless grinding in Zeruhn Mines for me. At least I got my skillup ring out of it... heh. Time to move on to Fei'Yin... *ugh*. Maybe I'll go as THF/DNC and pick the treasure chests open in hopes of that new Magic Skill up earring. That would be a nice bonus to make the time I spend in that horrid place worth it. It's just a shame that my THF's damage is abyssmal compared to NIN at 99. It's a shame that bringing more people trunches the EXP reward for my fellow.

    This might take a while.

Adventuring Fellow level cap raised to 80.

    50 Forgotten Touches
    30 Forgotten Steps
    30 Forgotten Journeys
    21 Forgotten Hopes

I'm ready to start upgrading as soon as I spend a little more time farming. I'd upgrade the NQ pieces I have to the +1 versions if I hadn't been selling all my currancy to buy the forgottens in the first place. On top of that... 24 hour wait time... 1 piece at a time... t get the +1 version? No thanks. People are charging upwards of 50k for the items you need to upgrade to +1 versions, and if you add that to the cost of 26+ pieces of currancy it comes out to around 180k to upgrade any piece to the +1. It's really just not worth it when you can buy the other 20 forgottens for around 140k and get your +2 piece RIGHT NOW. The only 2 pieces that won't work on are the Head and Body. Their Forgottens are rather pricy and hard to find on the cheap.

Set up my macros for PUP... including neck piece gear swaps for Overload prevention and body piece gear swaps for the ACP body I got. Everything else is rather minor... but the Manuver macros really are something to be proud of. They work flawlessly.

Established an Einherjar Static to run the event twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Thanks to the generous admission of 2 of our members, we already have 2 Odin pop sets ready to go. On top of that, we also have my 2/3 pop set at the ready. Sunday will be the last feather I need and ext wednesday will be our first run at NQ Odin. Apparently in order to gain access to Odin v2 you need to first have killed the NQ Odin. So I'm sacrificing my set to help our other static members kill him for the clear and then we're running 2 Odin v2 runs next week.

PLD is now level 70 with 251 sword skill and 212 evasion (I think parry is over 200 and shield is nearing 200). With around 50k gil left, I doubt I'll be able to afford new equipment (earrings and such) and consumable items.

    800k! Where did you go? ; ;
