i think pearl too. I know DoT kills (like Bio) count as pearls also.

Its any elemental weapon skill that builds amber, where as physical builds ruby
use Aleion edge, primal rend, cloudsplitter, cataclysm...I think any of the 'red' procs if your ambering.

IMO, high pearl and ~110 ish amber would be the optimal if your strictly Feet farming.

Avoid ruby
Avoid Azure (unless you decide you also want xp/cruor/time, but that will slow your gold chest rates down)

Small chests can contain:
- Boots / Crafting Items / pop items
- Consumable Temps

Big Chests can contain:
- Boots / Crafting Items / pop items
- Consumable Temps
- Key Items

Once you start popping big chests... your chance of seeing a box that could contain boots drops from 50% to 33%.

I typically stop collecting amber below 100 and then pump my Pearl up as high as I can. No other lights at all and you'll see gold chest drop like CRAZY.

the guys told me here 100-120 and even that is pushing it.
I use AE on pup with yagatan daggers it seems to be the only magical ws I have access to on pup.

100-120 is my comfort zone. 128 is generally when you'll see only (or mostly) big chests, and in my experience gold chests are still fairly rare before the 100 mark. That's not to say boots *can't* show up in big chests, because they can and have--but I generally find them more often, and in greater quantities in small gold chests. Others may want to throw in their experience for this.

AE kills get you amber light, which gets the gold chests to spawn, yes.

Bear in mind if you spam too much Aeolian Edge, you'll cap amber and in my experience so far---capped chests, although dropping flies tend to rarely have boots in them because for whatever reason, boots are deemed 'low quality loot' and thus you'll get key items and temps more often than not.
