this way you can add a sharpshot ino your barrage if you want. if you don't want to for some reason, just cancel it.
also, notice /ra <stnpc>. that's because i noticed that, sometimes, using sharpshot and barrage can pull hate even before you fire. this way, if the mob is coming towards you, you can give the tank a chance to put the mob back in the sweet spot before you fire.

It’s a good idea to set aside one set of macro pallets for when you are soloing. I change jobs a lot, so I fit all my soloing macros on one pallet set so I always know where they are.

actually if you're a rdm it would cast all 3 if you had another wait line in

rdm does have access to all 3 of those spells, we just get blink and stoneskin a little bit later, you don't have to /whm as rdm.

mnd+ is really big for stoneskin, especially low levels and mnd is much more effective for Stoneskin than Enhancing Magic+ items, iirc same for Phalanx as well. the <stpc> is for 2 purposes, 1 i can cancel the macro any time, and I don't have to make different macros for whm and wether i'm rdm & wearing Fast Cast+ gear or not.

at my level, especially as elvaan with my high enhancing skill and mnd, it doesn't take much to cap Stoneskin.

if you've whm, you just hit [enter] or the equivelant ps2 button and it'll skip Phalanx.

my point at the time was that a rdm doesn't need phalanx, stoneskin, and blink. i found phalanx and stoneskin to normally be more than enough. as a whm i normally preferred stoneskin and blink.

i tried out this macro in-game after i typed it here. i think i like what you suggested more. /ma stoneskin <me> then /ma phalanx <st> and /ma blink <st>. you replied before i had a chance to go change it

I thought I'd toss in a few of my own ideas about the rng macros. Before 51, and since the cp ammo isn't until lvl 60 I would say until then, I would put both my Sharpshot and Barrage macro on the same one.

You can easily tell if one did not activate due to lag, and just hit it once more if need be. Though, I haven't yet had them both not go off. I've had worse luck trying to hit two macros one right after the other in serious lag and have mash the second repeatedly before it'll hit. However, there have been no problems so far in macroing multiple JA's into one macro.
After 51, or if you prefer 60, I would say to start splitting up your barrage, sharpshot, and unlimited shot. This way if the timer on unlimited shot isnt up yet you'll be more likely to see it and can quickly unequip your cp ammo.

you'll see the usual msg that Unlimited Shot isnt ready yet if you hit it too soon. You can then have another macro next to it to unequip the cp ammo and put your normal ammo back in its place.

The real key here is to watch your log and make sure everything goes off w/o a hitch before you start spamming arrows again.
If you dont already know, the reason for splitting up barrage and unlimited shot is that activating one will deactivate the other. So for ending a chain 5 with a Sidewinder > Barrage > Sidewinder. You'd have to:

I know that seems like a long post for really just one real macro change, but I've seen the best way to macro that stuff in be heavily debated and it becomes very important to the job later on. There are easier ways to macro it, i.e. make both equip changes on the same macro along with the ws shot, but I've found that easier ways to use it often mean easier ways to lose your cp arrow. And thats a minimum of 32k CP that I dont want to just throw away.

with <st> you don't need the wait. <st> waits for you to hit the enter key.

putting your sharpshot and barrage ja's under the same macro is a good idea. i may go back and change that. and the ammo thing shouldn't be a problem because your /ra <t>'s have /equip range "Normal Arrow" before them (except the one rapid fire macro)

but that blink so helps against those Thunder IIIs or IVs if the first Silence doesn't work. Blink works wonders on spells that can 1 shot you even with Stoneskin and Phalanx. while on the otherhand soloing Ruby and other Quadaavs in Qulun Dome Blink and Stoneskin are very much recommended. All you need is 2 Chainspelled Fire IIIs and it's all over. Blink lets you live till that Sleep or Silence.

but if you're 70 and soloing in Rolanberry Fields, no you don't need all 3, in fact, if that's the case, Regen works just fine.
