    Oh, another thing. I killed a dragon last night, one that the main dragon was resurrecting from the dead. (I wouldve used spoilers, but this happens in the first 10 mins of the game so i dont think it's a real spoiler.) I absorbed the soul, but i couldnt tell a difference. Do i get powers by absorbing dragons after i kill them? I have soul gems, arent they involved some how?

    Don't worry, you'll start pwning giants soon enough., but they will be pretty tough at first. So watch out in the mean time. <_<;

    What level do you need to be at to take a hit from Giants? or can yu not get hit by them? lol... I think for me, that's the miost frustrating thing in the game so far. I put ffxiv down and decide i want to skyrim it some. I'm going about the mainline quest, running out to a far away town, and on the way i come across u huse mammoth and some giants. I snipe a giant from far away, and he comes running at me. I start back peddling and hitting him with double flames at destruction rank 39, I'm level 10, it does a little damage to him, but then i run out of back peddle room, hit a rock, then I'm dead in 1 hit. are you not supposed to pick fights with giants? lol... are they weaker to another level of spell? I would think that if they put mobs in your path that follows the main quest line, they'd be in your level range. Hmmm... i did notice i have those gloves in my inventory, the pugilist gloves that that crazy swede told us to get to be a "BADASS." maybe ill jsut start acting like a viking and beat the S out of erverything with my bare fists... LOL

    Well the "reward" is an easy final fight and free entry to the Dark Brotherhood as killing him is considered murder after that quest.

    Don't forget that you can't do the freakin Orc's quest once you kill him. That pissed me off to find out he was the champ. I had to reload and go off to finish his damn quest first to be sure it didn't grant you something awesome upon completion. When I found out that his reward was garbage... it made it that much more satisfying to crush him in the arena.

    Aww Icemage beat me to posting that.

    Still an awesome video though. I actually have a relative who sounds like the guy narrating.

    That was fantastic. Don't play the game but I have a colleague that won't stop thinking/talking about it. Been telling him Skyrim should allow you to punch the hell out of everything, so I have the stupidest grin on my face after seeing that video.

    Partying Hard in Skyrim: Fus Roh DANCE! - YouTube!

    I think this is just the Fallout 3 dancing mod thrown into Skyrim, but its actually choreographed, so its a bit more amusing.

    ------

    That aside, not to totally derail here, but what's everyone's take on KIngdoms of Amalur: Reckoning? Its director was one of the lead designers for Morrowind and Oblivion and this game has a great deal in common with Elder Scrolls in that you're dropped into this world and left to pretty much do whatever and define your character along the way. Well, except the combat doesn't look like it sucks, which it still pretty much does in Elder Scrolls (which is why I'm all bows, sneaking, backstabbing and magic).

    It looks kinda Fable-ish visually and makes similar promises in that direction as well, though since Peter Molyneux isn't involved it'll probably make good on the promises its made.

    I did wince at EA publishing it, but since the studio isn't owned by EA, its less likely they'll pull the bullshit they usually would. If they do, it probably will be like what they did with Alice: Madness Returns, which was more harmless given it was an actual bonus and not content stripped from the game.

    Yeah, I locked the guy up in a dungeon cell and tossed the key somewhere far, far away. Annoying bastard, he'll have to listen to his own squeeky voice for the rest of eternity...

    And I'm playing around with character mods right now.

    Click

    Can't believe how many nice mods are already out there, things will definitely get crazy in Jan with the (GE)CK. o_O;

    The Arena in Oblivion was pretty much the same mission over and over again. Run into an arena, put an arrow in the other guy then its off to talk to the same redguard about killing the next guy until you get to talk to the old lady once and go kill to final guy.

    All it added to the game was an adoring fan, a high elf boy, that follows you around the imperial city hero worshipping you.

    I'll have to agree Guild quests are kinda meh compared to the Daedric quests. Guild quests do have their moments of course, but most of it is not as good as it could've been.

    Edit: Although I'm not sure Oblivion's quests were better, I'd probably lean more towards Skyrim on that even if there are fewer scripted quests here in favor of Radiant quests. So it could be just good old nostalgia kicking in when people say Oblivion quests were better.

    Although considering how sidetracked I get between quests it may be just me forgetting what it was all about. XD

    Deadric quests pertain to various shrines and some temples or instances you'll just happen upon that involve the Daedric princes that live on the plane of Oblivion. They're demi-gods worshipped by various cults or religions. Azura is one the Dark Elves worship. they're not like the Divines, however and very few of them are good.

    Some are evil, one is completely insane and got his own expansion in Oblivion.

    I mostly disagree with the take on the quests. They were more of them in Oblivion, but I wouldn't say having more made them better. - though in the case of the Winterhold College I think those missions were long enough compared to the pile of fetchquests the Mages guild sent you out on. The Dark Brotherhood had a smidge more character in Oblivion, but the Skyrim story is almost a direct sequel with direct references to the guild in Oblivion.

    The quests these guilds give aren't as plentiful, but there's just so many more involved quests in Skyrim than there were in Oblivion. Beyond the guilds, there's all these quests that paint a bigger picture of the conflicts within and surrounding Skyrim. The Civil War and which side you chose in that war reshapes the government of entire cities and many standard quests that just add to the flavor of the cities and towns this time out.

    Overall, Skyrim just as a stronger density of moments that make everyone's experience unique and it also paints a stronger picture of a region's place in history than other installments have.
