Maybe we should just have Neverslip be the one to call you out more often, because its fun to watch you backpedal for others. It shows me what a fake you can be.
Perhaps I just forgot the PSN sign-up process - I just did stuff on PSP, so I can't say how often you mess with it on PS3 but I can't think of once service on this green earth that doesn't ask you for name, address, email and phone number at least before opening an account with them, among other things. I do know that If I want to make sure someone is who they say they are, they're gong to have to give me more than a email address to do it. Maybe I filled out the whole thing, maybe I didn't. It was almost two years ago, so all I know is I changed my passwords on everything not too long ago because some things seemed off in my online dealings.
I know I can't check to make sure and neither can you because the network is down, but I'm fairly sure there was a little more than email required - or maybe you're just a freeloader account, since there can be up to five PSN accounts linked to a parent account with no additional information needing to be disclosed..
But all the attempts to downplay the issue aside (Doesn't affect me, herp derp), can we all agree Sony really screwed the pooch on this one? I mean, they don't have encryption?
The FBI has 40 warrants out on Anonymus and, personally, I hope the fed and Sony can nail them to the wall. They deserve that much. But do I hope Sony is forced to take some serious responsibility for their apathy and terrible treatment of customers. Hell fucking yes, I really hope they get their asses nailed to the wall, too.
If this were Nintendo, Valve or MS I'd feel the same way to be honest.
For now, I too have removed my Sony products from the house and I'll wait to see how they shape up in the next year. If security gets better and Sony starts showing some real respect toward their customers, maybe I'll be back for NGP and PS3 next year. Maybe not, hard to say since Nintendo seems to be lining up the next console for Q2 2012.
