No, her character was just terrible and annoying. As douchey as he has become, at least Cloud tried to be cool. Zack is still my favorite protagonist in the series, followed by Squall.

PS > Yeah Zack is the best and I didn't particularly like Squall until later in the game, but I really liked ALL of VIII's characters and setting. That's why it's my favorite game in the series.

I really liked ALL of VIII's characters and setting

Setting was OK.
Most of the characters were some kind of idiot.
They felt like when you visit your family at Christmas and you're still single.
They want to keep tossing out ideas that might "fix" you.
Or set you up with a woman that tries to "fix" you.
So I have some sympathy for Sqall.

And that's why I liked Quistis, she eventually gave up trying. Once he found his own answers, she could have actually been a viable romantic interest, but nooooooooo, it just had to be that ditz Rinoa.

I could have given Kiros and Ward a pass on not being idiots, but they did follow Laguna around and listen to him.

hey! FFXII is one of the best FFs! and the world and design is far better than FFXIII! and the mark hunts were actually FUN and some had meaningful ties to the main story! FFXIII had its moments but it's only half of what it could have been.

hey! FFXII is one of the best FFs! and the world and design is far better than FFXIII! and the mark hunts were actually FUN and some had meaningful ties to the main story! FFXIII had its moments but it's only half of what it could have been.

I know BBQ will vehemently disagree with me on this, but I still say 12 was garbage. It could have been great, but I honestly that the last few segments of the game ruined it (that and Vaan is just the worst character ever. I'd rather have Onion Kid or Warrior of Light over him)

And the only real idiots... well okay, you're right lol most of them were pretty goofy. Laguna gets away with it though, because it just suits him. Zell, Selphie & Irvine though... bleh, Orphans or not they were tards. The reason I liked Squall so much is partly because I can relate to him, but mostly because he's the first FF character to really grow and actually mature. Most of the other characters in FF really just come to terms with their respective situations, they don't actually grow and change as a result of them, and that's why I loved Squall.

8's plot could have been a lot better though, it was way too convoluted and dragged on quite a bit. Ugh crap, this probably means that we'll be seeing Rinoa added in Dissida 2 as a tag-team partner for Squall. We MIGHT get lucky and get Laguna instead, but I'd bet money on Rinoa. Eh let's just run down the list of most likely additional characters.

FF1: ????
FF2: Maria
FF3: ????
FF4: We already know it's Kain, but he could be a villain so there's room for Rosa.
FF5: Galuf or Faris, because no one really cares about the other 2.
FF6: Could honestly be anyone, but I'm leaning on Locke
FF7: Tifa, though Zack would be preferred.
FF8: Rinoa or Laguna
FF9: Vivi (the only other acceptable character IMO would be Quina, just for the weirdness)
FF10: Waka or Auron
FF11: Prishe or Lilisette (either would rock)
FF12: Ashe or Fran PLEASE!
FF13: Assuming we get 2 from 13 as well, I'd wager it'd be Snow or Sazh.

the Nomura interview confirms not every Final Fantasy will get a new character.
So that means there will be less than 13 new characters, and maybe only 1 character per Final Fantasy.

The only thing they hinted is that there will be" more" than 4 or 5 new characters (UMD space is making them hard to decide who to fit in.)

So I think the ones that will get priority space will be FFVII, VIII and FFX. Of course FFIV, and FFXIII, but it's uncertain if FFXIII will get someone besides Lightning.


Also, I dunno about your list, mew, it's strongly Cosmos based. There has to be more new Chaos villains too, mew.

Well I read some theories and I agree that at least these will be chosen:

FFV: Gilgamesh
FFVII: Tifa
FFVIII: Seifer
FFX or FFX-2: Yuna

I know. Since Koei transferred Strikeforce to PS3, SE could do the same for Dissidia! What are they waiting for?? Instead of wasting money on Front Mission Evolved, they should be portingat least the first Dissidia to PS3! But I guess they might save that announcement for next TGS, sigh.... and by then almost no one will care since Dissidia 2 would be released.

Front Mission Evolved isn't even being developed internally by Square-Enix.

Also, Tecmo-Koei milk Dynasty Warriors for every dollar and yen they can. They have no dignity. SE made Dissidia to sell Sony some PSPs, just like they made Crisis Core to sell Sony some PSPs.

Just like Nintendo is making Zelda OOT 3D to sell people a 3DS. They're not going to go and be stupid and put it up on Virtual Console.
