I'm in the middle of Portrait of Ruin's endgame, which apparently just recycles the four previous paintings with new, upgraded enemy sprites. Each area seems to come with a pre-packaged "make sure Charlotte uses this" kind of spell, meaning, Charlotte gets the rare opportunity to actually be useful.

Still I could have done without the recycled areas. I know its kind of a Castlevania thing to do, make you retread the castle upside-down or in reverse or somehthing, but still, the Sorrow games and Ecclesia didn't resort to this.

I play it every now and again. Mainly when I don't have the time to really sit down and play for long periods. I haven't gotten incredibly far.

How quickly does that 4GB fill out after all the XBL updates and such?

I've been wanting a new system and I know I'd have to get a bigger HDD eventually, but I just want something to play MVC3 on when its out. Plus the announcement of Torchlight and having Super Meat Boy has tipped the scale to the 360 side for me.

Meh, dunno why I even said it, really.

I really should just wait and see when the US date for 3DS is. There's no sense in making such a large investment in another console when 3DS is around the corner unless I have some extra time.

I can blow $300 now and have a PS3 and 360 and miss the 3DS launch or I can hold back, pre-order the 3DS and pay off some games for its launch day while I enjoy the DS/PSP games coming out before then. Then I could throw my DSi at a PS3 or 360 later. I need to keep the existing DSi around for Pokemon purposes >.>

I think I'll postpone that new console decision for "When Deus Ex: Human Revolution is out" rather than "when MvC3 is out." Its not like I can't work my way up the ranks later.

PS3 would ultimately be better for me, I'd have a place to put all my PSOne classics when not playing them on the PSP. Torchlight and Super Meat Boy I could always play when I get a better PC (though Meat Boy doesn't look like it would feel right there).

You get 2.9 gbs after xbl updates. Delete the games on the HDD that come pre installed and you have 3.1 gbs.

I just finished setting mine up. Box contents suck dick. No HD hookup, so just get a HDMI cable from monoprice.

I'm currently downloading shadow complex, marvel 2, and HDR. That puts me at 1.5 gb left, give or take.

Ah, that's not so bad

If I would have that much space left, I could wing my way to a 3DS and worry about the HDD down the road. I wouldn't have much planned in terms of DLC yet. Still, I'll wait to see what the weekend's news brings on the 3DS front, we should have firm US/Japan launch dates by then. Its also better than I know what I'm wanting out of it and how soon its coming.

From the looks of it I can just get a dirt-cheap HDMI cable off Amazon. Talking like less than a dollar here, I'd be spending more on shipping. Did the same thing for my component hookups on my Wii.

I guess you could say a PS3 would be better for me in most regards... just not right now. Missing out on the temptation to join in on DCU Online and FFXIV would be in my best interests. The more I miss the start of those, the less I'll be compelled. I'm using knowledge of my own vices to sabotage any return to playing MMOs, more or less I want to play them on consoles, not PCs, so getting a new PC wouldn't particularly lure me into another MMO.
