Castlevania Harmony of Despair! August 4! best co-op!
Re: Castlevania Harmony of Despair! August 4! best co-op!
Who are you that you have piles and piles of money to waste on this abusive distribution scheme and love every minute of taking it up the ass from the gaming industry? I refuse to believe you are real. You are a figment of my imagination. A troll constructed from the Ghosts in the machine we know as the internet. A facade, a charade, an illusion. No one is this stupid and this masochistic.

I'm going to sell J9 a burger.
But only the bun at first and for $5
Then some mustard.
Then some ketchup.
gotta pay $5 for each addition.
And then some pickles.
Onions.
Lettuce
Tomato
Also $5 each.
Finally, the meat - that'll be $10
In the end, we will have a $45 burger and, obviously, it will be the best burger ever.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. For the most part, I've seen DLC that has nothing to do with story advancement or anything of utter importance to the game it's created for.
It feels like just something extra that, if you'd like to enjoy it, you can pay for it. If not, you're still welcome to enjoy the main game. *shrugs*

Um, you're the one enjoying a piecemeal of stuff we've already played.
Not in this way. Castlevania 1 didn't have its levels connected like this in real-time, and you have to factor in all of Castlevania HD's features, co-op, all these characters playable, its own balance and equipment rules, and additions to the chapters and more!

It's not like the DLC costs $100.
No one is this stupid and this masochistic.
Your views on this distribution method is sadly exaggerated, and delusional.

Food only lasts minutes and used up once.
Content that adds characters and locations to play in can be replayed for days/weeks/months
and each DLC only costs a few dollars.
If you were to add all the DLCs up to about $50, if people love the game and the DLC, then they are the winners, not just the company.
They get what they pay for, and people who don't think so should do their research before buying anything, that way they can't use their ignorance as an excuse.
Do you think just as many people would have bought this game if all of this content was bundled together for about $50-$60? They would still complain about the price more than you complaining about DLC sold separately. Either way the total price would still be the same.
People that are paid minimum wage can afford all this stuff.
A pack-a-day smoker burns through about $31.50 per week, and you two are against weekly DLC that costs less than 10 dollars?

My rebuttal: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-Ultimate-Pc/dp/B0045ZB66I]Amazon.com: Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition: PC: Video Games[/ame]
That is a retail game with a lot of content and a overhyped company/fanbase behind it.
Games like this wouldn't sell as much in stores and people would have an issue with the price (and companies like Sony and MS don't believe 2-D sells great on consoles these days unless its something tried and popular like Disgaea.
The retail market and $50-60 mainstream buyers would have a problem paying that for a game that isn't flashy in presentation/production values, while ignoring its gameplay qualities. That's just the type of general consumer base that's out there.
Regardless, Castlevania HD sold really well. As of October 2010, it has sold over 90,000 units and is known to be one of the most successful Summer of Arcade games, and people are buying the DLC and enjoying every minute, mew!
Pretty much why I don't buy games that go for this model at launch.
There will be a roll-up and since companies like EA have the audacity to try to make me feel dirty for buying used, when these roll-ups finally come I will wait for them in the used bin.
That way, I'm being the consumer they feared in the first place.
Re: Castlevania Harmony of Despair! August 4! best co-op!
the more I look at the game, it looks ok, but honestly, I would not buy it unless they sold it to me at the price it is now, but with all the DLC included..... sorry but this nickel and dime BS is getting out of hand -.-

Kain (FFIV): I am aware of my actions, but can do nothing about them.
+ 4 players local co-op added (6 players online co-op is still included!)
+ Julius DLC included in package
+ Yoko DLC included in package
+ Chapter 7 included in package
What a great way to sell the PSN version of Castlevania Harmony of Despair, one of the most fun games ever made!!!!!!!!!! Definitely buying the rest of the DLC too (music packs, stages, characters)! ^_^
