I've downloaded all of the add-ons and characters so far... I have to say it's a very very fun experience... and very very challenging. The new Dracula's castle is freakin' hella difficult. Everything takes so much damage away yet you must hit everything many many times. I really like the retro feel of this game. It brings back memories long buried.

That said: I'm a bit pissed that Konami nickle and dimed us so much with HoD. It's really a shame that this really good game is gonna get a bad rep from this business decision. All of these additional levels and characters could have and should have been in HoD upon the original release and favorably impacted reviews. For shame Konami. Next time ... don't be a dick.

Most of the DLC wasn't ready by then, and DLC is a reality in today's market. People complain, but more people buy DLC anyway.

And one of the advantages of DLC is that people can choose and buy what they want to use.

I don't think Castlevania HD would have grown this much if they only released what they had ready in August. It would still only have 6 chapters and 5 characters right now if it wasn't for DLC.

It's fair business really. If players are willing to pay, the game, the company and the players all benefit from it.
Besides the prices are less that what people pay for meals at McDonalds. It's completely affordable.

And even if people add up all the DLC prices the game costs about $50, which isn't bad considering it offers more replay value, characters, cooperation and fun than most $60 games these days, mew.

If they waited until now to release Castlevania HD with all the DLC content together, it would cost around $50+ and people would still complain. All this content is worth much more than $15.

Anyways Castlevania HD is a success. It's one of the most bought and played Summer of Arcade games, and last I heard, it sold over 90,000+ copies, and lots of people are buying and enjoying the DLC.

In a few months it's very possible they will announce a PSN version, I will gladly buy it all again to enjoy it with the PSN community that has yet to experience it!

I completely disagree. Just because you are willing to get reamed in the ass whilst wearing rose-tinted glasses and enjoying every minute of it, doesn't mean it isn't still bullshit.

It's fucked up and it could have all been in the original release. IF they didn't have all these additions finished (which I sincerely doubt) they could have pushed the release. Release it as a full game at the full price instead of disguising it as a XBL title then nickle and diming the players like they currently are.

How many times did this line work on your mom anyway "... but everyone else is doing it..." ??? ... cuz that is no excuse for doing something that sucks dog ass.

At least the DLC for Castlevania HD is worth buying.

Using metaphors draws you farther away from the facts. It's their product, their rules how to sell it.

To date, people complain about the character DLC should be included in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but you know what, people that want them will buy them, and they will get their money's worth if they really want them and done their research so they know exactly what they are paying for, mew.

Being a rebel and choosing not to buy DLC isn't going to make DLC go away from the industry, you will just miss out.
