Reviews aren't worth a damn and we both know that. If you or someone you know has played it, that's another matter entirely.

Metacritic has been an interesting tool, for me, but I usually use it when trying to find an accurate score on a game that I believe people are being too in-love with, like MW2. I'll skip the good reviews and see what the people who scored it the lowest are saying. I'm not sure how to use it with a game people are reviewing as poor, but I suppose you'd do the exact opposite.

Really, if the game appeals to you then check it out. It could be something you really enjoy. It's served me well, and I rarely choose to play a game that I don't enjoy.

I love the demo! (there is a trick someone has posted online where one of the 8 players in a gorup can leave, then rejoin when the leader is in matchmaking status, and that causes the matchmaking to start much sooner!)

I love using all 3 species! (aliens with auto transition in options helps but ya they are the hardest to master.) I agree the flamethrower is really weak, but the shotgun is very powerful if used right. Predators are so fun! So are the Marines (really scary moments!) I had to take a time out from WKC to try the demo for a day. And I love everything about it! Even the melee system is so deep! Light attacks can be blocked. Strong attacks are slow but go through blocks.
Marines can't strong attack but their pulse rifles kill fast. The smartgun is fun to use too!

I am so mad at gameinformer for giving the game such a retarded score (5.7 something) for the stupidest reasons.
I guess they are too used to call of duty and halo to enjoy anything different.

oh well, AVP has a good chance of success and a community, especiallly with the marketing push, and the fact that the
demo already plays great, even though it's a fact the demo is from an older build. So the full version will be even better!
Wow the killing animations are so gory and there are so many ways Aliens and Predators can finish people!

Ya the demo is only deathmatch, but I noticed matches where players of same species working in teams! It's really wonderful and unlike anything played for the past 10 years! MEW MEW MEEEEEEW! I'm super hyped!!!!!!!
I will have to reserve time for White Knight Chronicles online (I completed the wonderful epic story), and time to play the full version of AVP everyday! But ya even though I'm a fan of the movies and PC game, I wouldn't say these things if the demo didn't deliver what I expected, and it surely delivered many times more than that.

It is not sub par. It's not awesome either. It is a classic JRPG with some unique elements to it is all. I don't regret buying it full price though because I am enjoying the online aspects of it with my RPG group.

oh ya! WKC is lovable offline and online! it's awesome! FFXI should of had an offline mode added like that (but of course FFXI being an mmorpg, using your offline character wouldn't be safe since people might hack their items/stats, so if a FF mmo were to have an offline story, your created character there should be independant from the online one. but in WKC's case, being a more casual morpg, it works beautifully. )

a subpar JRPG would be Eternal Sonata or Blue Dragon. WKC is revolutionary compared to those! And I would recommend it over any other rpg/jrpg. It's money and time well spent (unlike FFXIII).

yea I was playing this just last night as a matter a fact. I always seem to have trouble however finding other players...sometimes its just 1 other ina free4all....Aliens n Pred's tho, agh sich grab moves eh? XD A good combination of action an horror..cus when i hear a alien screech, then just see its tail impale meXD yea...sick. Im also into WKC atm, online play, georama its all soo coo. The combo an skill up customization you can use also fun because it gives potential for a good few different play styles! Should last me, an get me ready for more so Massive morpg lol.

I tried the demo and it was alright. I wish I was able to pick my species instead of randomly getting put into one. The free for all with all 3 species was a poor way to show how the game is. I dont remember any of the modes from AvP2 having a death match with all 3 species. Any of the multiplayer modes from AvP2 would have made for a better demo.

Example1: Last man standing (Aliens vs. Marines)
Everyone starts as a Marine. The first person killed respawns as an Alien. Friendly Fire is turn off at that point. Then if the Alien manages to kill someone then that person turns into an Alien. This keep happening until 1 person is left.

Example2: King of the Hill (Predator vs. Marines)
Everyone starts as a Marine. The first person who scores a kill turns into a Predator. Friendly fire is turned off. The person will the killing blow on the Predator turns into the next Predator. This keeps happening until time runs out.

Example3: I cant remember any of the modes for Alien vs Predator.

As for the demo:
Being the Marine was as I remember it from AvP2.

I didnt like the Alien to much. Hold R2 to transition took sometime getting use to. Each transition felt awkward and I was disoreinted every time. I wish the put the leap attack back in. Maybe the leap attack was taken out because you were a less evolved form of them.

I dont know about the Predator because I never had a chance to be it.

hey that's not funny. And a total lie. I'm not saying anything about FFXIV until I learn much more. But I'm still hyped for it.


Well before FFXIII released in Japan, I spoke too soon before I discovered what a disaster it was story wise and game design wise. But that was a rare occassion. SE had a great record of having something great in each FF, but FFXIII is the first where they didn't deliver 100% of what they should have. They admitted cutting out some much content that would be equivalent to a whole new game. And the story was just so lackluster. You really don't care about the characters except like 1 or 2, and Lightning has the weakest lead role in a Final Fantasy. Her gymnastics and action moments don't make up for that fact. She doesn't even deliver half of the role and impact that heroes like Cecil, Cloud, and Squall have. I think they focused too much on graphics this time, and they chose the wrong people to shape the story.

but anyways my likes and dislikes and hypes are all opinions like everyone elses, so don't take my exaggerations or comments as if I am pushing them as facts, because it's just from my point of view, so have the decency to not put words in my mouth.
