I remember when I was 12 and they said we'd have full body virtual reality suits w/in 10 years. Methinks they were off the mark on that one.

I had a reply to this, but I have a feeling it is far too inappropriate for this board.

      Shame though.

That would be retarded, BTTF is a comedy. It was never intended to be realistic (not to mention, it's set in 2010 or 2015 anyway)

http://www.yorktownhistory.org/homep...redictions.htm This is a FAR more realistic take on it, although it's about 80 years older, and not exactly from a respected scientific journal.

Re: Pai Pai's OFFICIAL Tokyo Games Show 2007 Thread

The Zero series is still going though, similar to how starforce is continuing EXE with the new ZX story line. They just keep dragging it out. Just end it already or use an alternate universe at least. The world is screwed up enough as it is. Dr Right would be turning in his grave if he knew what his inventions had brought upon the world. (Like Humanity being nearly wiped out...) Wily too for that matter. Who would have though his ultimate creation would be the world's greatest hero (way to steal Rockman's thunder Zero)
Z4 was as conclusive as it gets. So what if they made a sequel series? The Zero series wrapped up the Classic, X, and Zero series all at the same time with the only plot hole left being, as LilithAngel pointed out, how Zero was stopped from destroying humanity when he was first activated. Oh, and Zero was originally meant to be the main character of the X series (but the Capcom bigwig were opposed to the idea, since the series still bore Megaman's name, yet Zero looked very different from Megaman.) With that in mind it's no surprise Zero stole Megaman's thunder, or that he got his own series later down the line.
Zero and X are both dead. And when the fuck did X become that fairy thingy anyway? I also hated how Arcadia basically cheap shotted him while his real body was unconcious at the end of 3... then they destroyed Zero's original body, which was supposed to be in slumber after 6 to be purified of the virus.
X probably became a Cyber Elf the same way Elpizo did at the end of Z2. After all, the Mother Elf/Dark Elf did have the ability to turn reploids into elves. As for Zero's body, according to the Mega Man Zero artbooks, Zero was supposed to be in slumber for 102 years to supposedly remove a part of himself (most likely the Zero virus.) His mind was removed from his body, and his body and the Zero virus were studied. With what they learned from Zero, the Mother Elf was created. Weil happened to be one of the scientists involved in studying Zero's body and the creation of the Mother Elf, and for whatever cheesy villainy reasons, stole Zero's original body and turned Mother Elf into the Dark Elf. A copy of Zero's body was made, Zero's mind was loaded into it, X and Zero stopped Weil, X used his body to seal away the Dark Elf, and Zero went back into sleep mode.
God damn I hate capcom for their convoluted story lines. Axel is meh and just seemingly came out of nowhere. I really don't care for him. X and Zero were already bad ass. Personally, I think it would have been way cooler had they just ended it with the two of them destroying each other, putting an end to Wily and Right's struggle once and for all.
Zero WAS meant to die. Remember, X6 to X8 wasn't made by Inafune. X1 through X4 foreshadows very, very obviously and strongly that X would at some point have to destroy Zero. In fact, we know Zero was made by Wily as early as X2. Add that to the retrospective nature of X5 and X and Zero's foreshadowed duel finally happening, and it's not hard to see that the series was really going to end there.

I agree that the introduction of Axel was stupid, but again, the series's creator had no hand in that. What bothers me most about Axel is that he's on par with X and Zero and can also conveniently copy powers, which makes no goddamned sense. But then look at the sucky job they did in X6 too. Engrish all over the place, a vague plot, and the dumbest excuse ever to bring back Zero (o hi guys i was just hiding wile i fix my body lolz).
Dr. Cain and the guy from X3 also just randomly disappeared/died too... anyway, that's enough of that.
It was officially stated that Cain died of old age. He DID look old as sin in X2. Dr. Doppler was killed by X and Zero.

Sure, some of the finer details to the story weren't made available to the American audience, and Capcom did a major fuck-up when they continued the X series despite Inafune ending it at X5, but for the most part the story makes sense. There's one or two unexplained plot holes, but whatever.

PS3 controllers on the show floor have rumble. Official announcement of new controller will probably come tonight. (Source: IGN)

High Impact Games is developing a new Ratchet & Clank title for PSP. It's a spinoff from Up Your Arsenal, called Secret Agent Clank.

Here are scans from the new MGS4 and MGO trailers.

              Metal Gear Ray looks awesome!

So does my stomach, another wonderful innovation from Sony.

Personally, I've never seen the big deal with rumbling controllers. I get focused on the game and never notice it.

I mostly agree, though it is sorely missed in shooting games.

Helps a lot with Super Smash Bros gameplay too. Not that it's an innovation at this point, Mhurron said.

Ya I thought it was a fantastic thing when I first experienced it with GoldenEye on the N64, but after the first time picking up a controller without a rumble pack in it and playing that game for an hour or so before I noticed I realized that after the first minute of play, it didn't matter because I never noticed it was there.

The good thing about the PS1's dual shock controller was that they felt more solidly built then the playstations original controllers.

Well that and the analog sticks, those really are fantastic over a D-Pad.

With wireless being all the rage now, rumble is a feature I always leave disabled. Even though I have rechargable batteries, I prefer more than doubling battery life with it off.

kinda odd the topic got right back on force feedback like that...

anyway, I kinda agree, but rumble can have it's uses. Like in the Wii, play around with the menu some. Especially if you mute your TV, you notice that the Wii remote gives you a little bit of feedback when you hover over a selection. Makes the keyboard have at least SOME tactile feedback, which helps a ton compared to just pointing and clicking on an onscreenkeyboard (which I have done way too many times)

There are a precious few games that actually make good use of rumble. All I can think of atm are Rez and MGS. The bumps from the wiimote give a nice tactile feel to onscreen menus and keypads. Mostly people just ignore the feature or try to shoehorn it in where it really has no purpose. It's just poorly utilized by developers.

Trance vibrator isn't a game, it's a sex toy. Really, that should be obvious.

I meant the vibration of the controller in rhythm to the music. But since you bring it up, you can't really argue that the trance vibrator attachment isn't a good use of rumble features. >_>

I now have Rock is Sponge stuck in my head.

Did you hear Rez, Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun are getting released on live? I think my personal console war may be over ..

Edit: Hey, what happened to auto-merge double post? I thought that was back.
