Well I got a few games for my birthday:

Well MW2 got the lion's share of my attention but I've been playing Cross Edge also and really enjoying it. I was playing DAO on PC but received a PS3 copy. And I collect Harvest Moon games so hence the 2 I received. I'll probably never even open them. lol

No one gives me games for my birthday, at least, not since I was 16. That would mark Donkey Kong Country as the last game I ever got as a birthday present.

I've been laying on big hints to my family that PSN cards are very pleasing to me and I tend to highlight that they allow me to download movies and comics (soon) for viewing and not just games. Of course, I Redbox most current movies, so what I rent on PSP really just amounts to what I can't find elsewhere.

Restarted my playthough of KH Re: Chain of Memories and I was at the halfway of Sora's story last time. I had completed the GBA version but I've been surprised to see the story bits that got changed around and also the giant amount of new slights I've come upon. I'm using Tornado and Magnet Spiral to clear out most rooms now. They throw wayyy more enemies at me in the final area than the GBA game did.

While that's cute, it also means I'm able to powerlevel myself pretty easily. Sometimes you need to curb technological advantages for the sake of adding some balance.

Still otherwise, I still consider it one of my favorite game just for how deeply you can customize the experience. Many additions also alleviate some of the issues the GBA version did have. More slights mean less reliance on certain slights and more variety in what I can do, that and the new room cards - especially Random Joker, help resolve some unneeded grinding to gain certain types of room cards to achieve a goal.

So if SE's goal was to reduce the grind just a bit in CoM, I think they did a good job there. Its always an interesting experiment upending the table to do a 3D game as 2D or vice versa. The results tend to work better for RPGs in general, though. Other genres not so much.

I forgot all about that game, I still need to grab it.

Coming up on Christmas where I will have almost 14 days off. I plan to beat as many games as I can during that time, and I will probably end up finishing none of them. Planning on finishing the following:

Assassin's Creed 2 (The story mode will probably be finished over thanksgiving break.)
Borderlands
Modern Warfare 2 (Unlock M16 in MP)
Uncharted 2 (Brand new in the package still.)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (Brand new in the package still.)
Halo: ODST (Maybe)
Final Fantasy Tactics PSP (Chapter 3 I think)
Disgaea 3 (Remember where the hell I left off at.)
Fallout 3 (Forget what expansion I was on, I think I got 2 left to beat, one of them being Point Lookout!)
Mass Effect (I was on the last mission of the game if I remember right. That was from back when I rented it like last year LOL. I broke down and bought it since it was 19.99 and still have never played it)

Planning to pickup Street Fighter 4 too. I was looking at some of the clips for Super Street Fighter 4 and that is what made me want it. Also need to pickup that sith edition of Force Unleashed, I forgot that came out.

I just got Demon's Souls and it is an absolutely incredibly harsh game. The amount of times I've died and lost all the souls and such I've gathered after hours of playtime is just a kick in the balls, especially since it's always because I do something really stupid (trying to sprint past that exploding mine cart with less then half HP? Yea, I deserved to lose that 12k in souls). It's a shame this game probably won't receive as much attention as it should because it's an incredible experience with loads of replayability. Every new game+ starts you off with everything you've gained on the last play through while increasing the difficulty of all enemies, while at the same time there are many one time only items and events you can pass right by that you'll can try for again in the next play through. In terms of hidden bosses, this can often be a bad thing since it means they'll be that much stronger the next time around. But the character customization and actual combat system are incredible, and the difficulty makes this game feel very rewarding when you actually kick the crap out of that bastard who killed you a half dozen times.

Still trying to get achievements in Left 4 Dead 2... I swear some of them are just broken.

Shock jock for example, where you have to revive 10 dead survivors with the Defibrillator - I've gotten at least 5 people with it so far, yet the achievement tracker shows 0/10. WTF?

I keep getting glitched out of 2 special infected ones as well - _ -


Mainly though I have to give a big W-to the-T-to the-F to "Real Deal". That achievement is just pure unfiltered bullshit. Survive an entire campaign on Expert with Realism Mode on.

For those who don't know, Realism is a new mode they added where all your visual indicators are taken away (arrows indicating where your allies are etc) and the Zombies just take a huge shit kicking to take down. Unless you shoot them in the head or have a decent shotgun, they don't go down easy. Couple this with an absolutely sadistic director and it makes for a very unpleasant experience

To cite an example, last night I was playing with 3 other guys and we simple just could not make it through part 2 of Dead Center (the Streets). We'd get to about the halfway point at best.

On one run we had literally every SI attack us right off the bat, followed by a Witch near a door. Well, we maneuvered around her only to hear The Tank music start up... and then of course, shit happens and during the tank fight someone startled the Bitch....

So ya...I rarely get things besides games or game/anime related stuff. He HATES talking to his family or his buddies at holidays because they always ask what he got me and he's too embarrassed to tell them. lol


Well I got Assassins Creed 2 or I should say my son got it for me but its not here yet. It came with an AWESOME figurine that I'm dying to get! Too bad he got the white version because the black version was WAAAAAAY cooler! I'm gonna have to track it down me thinks!

Oh Mal, get over it. Women and men are different and we think differently. It doesn't bother me that he bought me something that I really didn't want but I will take it back and get what I do want. He has the hang-ups. Maybe stop being so sensitive to every little thing a woman says or does and things will go smoother.

Durah that is freakin AWESOME! It ticks me off that its the century of the geeks now. I went through all the crap of being a geek when it was a bad thing and now that I'm too freakin old, its acceptable to cosplay and be a damn geek. LOL

Had a laugh when my son had a student come over so he could give him some tutoring and the kids saw some of my game figurines and immediately thought they were his. My son said "Oh thats not mine! My mom is a huge geek and thats all her stuff." Then me and the guy had a 30 minute conversation on Final Fantasy and Cloud and Sephiroth. lol Then while he was tutoring him I was playing PS3 and I can get vocal sometimes, though I was trying not to. I could hear him whispering to my son at times. When he left my son just walked in the living room shaking his head and looking at me. "You know mom, you freak people out when you do stuff like that. I spent half the time explaining to him that you weren't some freak of nature.........................but then I gave up because I guess you are to normal people!" I guess I have to "go to my room" next time he has to tutor someone. lol

Still playing Assassin's Creed 2, jesus christ is this game good. Pretty much every gripe I had with the first game(not many, but they were there)was fixed here, they added in a whole lot of new elements, and it feels like there is an actual story now rather than a heap of "ok do a preselected number of investigations then assasxxxxte this guy, then do it like 9 more times" so far. That and the random Assassin Tombs are a nice change of pace.

Party invites have been slow this weekend and thankfully I'm glad, it's kinda hard to pull myself away from this at some points lol. I force D/C'd from one party cause it was 3k/hr in Qufim and I turned my head to see AC2 paused, taunting me. "Come on Clever, you know you want to."

I'm playing the 360 version, bought the basic version for $60. Haven't encountered any glitches or slowdown really. I looked at the figurine and it's nice, but I literally have so many Gundam models that I have no place to put it, so no point in getting it lol.

Assassin Tombs

OMG THE TOMBS!!! Just finished the game, all 6 tombs, and all 30 encoded pages. (Good luck seeing me get all 100 Feathers I might try to get all the glyphs though.
(AC3 is going to be crazy epic!)

I'm playing on 360 too TGM.

The only thing I didn't like about the game:

Slight Spoilers that were mentioned by the devs. (Not story or gameplay related)

The devs said in one of the preview trailers that the game will take place in the animus way more than it did in the first game (Much much less time outside of the Animus). Seriously, there were only 3 1/2 times that Desmond came out of the animus and those were at the beginning, middle, and end of the game.

Last Boss Gameplay

The last boss in this game was no match for Ezio , I mean seriously the first AC Final Battle was hard until you figured out the pattern. However, the end boss in this game was too weak since you have access to all the things you were lacking in the first game. I did have epic fun on the last level though, so many spots to be stealthy and use the tools of the trade.

Also, do you get locked into low profile, pseudo-CS mode and miss perfect assasxxxxtion opportunites (or at least watch innocents get slaughtered that could've easily been avoided)?
