Is there another shirt that says "Water is WET!" because I'm digging this captain obvious look.

My favorite reply I've heard to that joke is: "Well now you have chlamydia."

See, "Your MOM" jokes don't work on me. I just respond with something like, "Oh good, she really needed to get laid," which almost always garners no response.

Re: Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
After living in Japan, Taiwanese vending machines are pretty disappointing. Come to think of it, even America has Taiwan beat. In America they're at least stocked with decent drinks; most of the vending machines here are from the local soda company, which tastes like shit, so there's not much to get but water or maybe tea.
Really, the great thing about Japanese vending machines isn't the selection (which are mostly found in places where you could just go to a convenience store anyway), it's the ubiquity. They have vending machines just placed randomly throughout neighborhoods, often outdoors; living in a place, you start to learn which ones are closest, which have certain drinks, and which have particularly low prices. The house I stayed in in Japan had a vending machine literally right in front of it. The hill behind us had yet more.
I can understand why Taiwan has so few vending machines, though; convenience stores are even more numerous here than in Japan. I believe it's actually the highest concentration of convenience stores of any country in the world. There are literally five or six 7-11s within walking distance of my home, plus probably about the same number of other companies. Human labor is probably cheaper than machines here anyway...

Re: Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
You can get ice cream and alcohol from vending machines here too. I've seen some in Manchester that vendor bottles of wine. There's also ones that do stuff like dispense soup or noodles as well. Though the noodle one kind of sucks. Google Pot Noodle and you will see why. About a dozen flavours and they all taste like boiled cardboard.
There's one in London that sells gold too.
I've also seen:- Condoms of just about every variety
- Vibrators
- Sex toys
- Hair brushes
- Deodorant
- Shampoo
- Bread
- Sandwiches
- French fries
- Pringles
- Pizzas
- Hot Dogs
- Hamburgers
- Painkillers
- Milk
- Cake
- Fruit
- SIM Cards
- Waterproof ponchos
- Something that is supposed to be tea but really doesn't taste like it. It's an abomination really and they should be banned.
And to be honest, the main reason why vending machines here spit your money out if it detects a stuck item is to stop people from shaking and kicking the machine when it happens.Last edited by Firewind; 03-02-2014, 04:18 PM.
