DNC is good at supplying the cures in many situations, but I wouldn't call it the best healer around.

Haste Samba & Infinite curing power say otherwise.

Now if SE would only smarten up and split Waltzes into separate timers DNC would be set. Until they do that WHM will remain king overall.

Haste Samba is hardly a replacement for Haste (spell).

And being in range of AoE paralyze, plague, amnesia, TP wipe, gear strip moves and such can put quite a dent into that "infinite curing power" idea.

Lastly, go ahead and try this: Remove two status ailments--two people each with two ailments.

DNC is great, but greatly flawed as a main healer. (But, a wonderful co/supplementary healer, though.)

Merited Samba is a decent replacement though.

But with timers as they are are right now there's no place for DNC as anything more than a backuphealer.

Haste Samba is hardly a replacement for Haste (spell).

Haste samba (merited) > Haste spell ... everyone who is hitting the mob in the party with the DNC gets the effect rather than someone having to cast haste individually. But both going is the bee's knees since they stack.

In agreement that with timers as they are, DNC is more of a supplemental healer in anything over trios.

...that's also an enfeebler and DD at the same time, with no need to ever sit and rest.

Players may not all be aware of the value of all the other things DNC do at the same time as healing, but I bet SE is, and that's why they're not going to allow DNC to outheal a WHM while also hasting, lowering defense and/or evasion, *and* dealing damage on their own.

DNC is already really awesome. It just doesn't have all its awesomeness concentrated in one place where it's obvious even to an idiot. So idiots don't appreciate it -- their loss.

We were talking about DNC healing though. No one said anything about DNC not bringing anything else to the table.

Not to mention anyone who has subbed DNC to solo already has a good idea about that. It isn't some sort of insider secret.

Haste and Haste Samba (I'm pretty sure) can't top Soul Voice capped Marches. During Abyssea on bard today (and many other times) my melees would never stop swinging. It was especially fun to watch double-weapon people (including H2H) just keep whacking away at the mobs -- it's almost like watching an amateur fight back in High School... they just keep going until they wear themselves out.

Missing the point entirely. It's not Haste Samba vs March, it's Haste Samba + March. Also unless your BRD is super pimped, you won't be capping magic haste with just SV marches anyway.
