The pet AI is pretty bad...

    Pets.

By god SE needs to work on them so badly. On top of the unusual quirks that comes with them (they like to run off on their on trash packs, they like to reset their stance, etc.) I found out tonight that If you do a primal fight (I was in hard modes, but I presume the same remains for normal..though I can't imagine people would do consecutive normal runs if they succeed the first try) and if you 'place' a pet at a certain area, they will automatically re-appear at that same spot the moment you queue in and do another fight. Wiped two Ifrit groups on the fly this way and I was so embarassed I apologized after the runs and left, refusing to do anymore tonight.

Later on, I found out that the only way to fix this issue is to dismiss your pet after the battle, queue up--and then re-summon your pet once you get in. So stupid. Shouldn't a pet return to being on follow--or despawn following a primal fight? Why would it appear in the same spot, despite being in a completely new instance? >_<

I really need to get out of the XI mindset. There are so many boss fights in this game where mobs can be slept, but I don't bother trying because I just take it for granted that the adds just can't be. In Wanderer's Palace just now, lost magnificently against Tonberry King first try because we became overwhelmed by Tonberries. Then somebody says I should be sleeping them, and I tried. We won effortlessly. I was like, "Oh..."

Pretty sure YP said in an interview the 1st cap increase would come early on, along with either Ramuh or Shiva.

Didn't I already post my response about this? I think a dev answered this back in beta. They said that future content expansions will have gear with unique stats, because if they aren't lifting the level ceiling anytime soon, they would want to avoid stat inflation. Your take on the current content is that it's pretty much it. It's far from anywhere near complete. We haven't even gotten to 2.1 and you already want god status. Just relax, SE knows what they are doing, and they've gotten this planned out far out into the future, further out than your own need to have something "now".

So I was looking over all the endgame weapons on the newly released database on Lodestone, and found some interesting finds.

Not all the Relic +1 are worth it. In some cases, the Allagan weapon is superior. Some cases are minor (like Curtana vs Allagan Blade) but with MNK it's no Contest, Spharai is complete trash compared to the Allagan Bhagnaks. They might be a decent sub weapon for a high evasive mob, but otherwise the +crit and +determination on Allagan far outstrips accuracy and skill speed.

    What the hell SE?

EDIT: See, this is why I was railing against the new design choices a while back. I really don't like the removal of unique buffs on gear, it's nothing but +stats now on everything. Back in 1.0, sure PLD AF gloves weren't super amazing, but the bonus to holy succor was highly noticeable. Bravura was an absolute monster of a Relic weapon because it had a whopping +50 VIT, but more importantly it cranked up the duration of Vengeance to 30 seconds. That was an insane buff for WAR as vengeance could really do a lot of reflect damage, but only lasted about 10~15 seconds by default.

I love gear that changes/tweaks how a class actually functions and it's one of the things I adored most about FFXI (minus the vague wording and having to figure out exactly what each enhancement did exactly.) It makes gear that's otherwise statistically inferior comparable. I'm hoping they change their minds on this design change soon.

It's a test of reaction time for three or four people and and a test of net code for the game. Everybody else has it easy.

Oh I know, I just don't ever think about it. Largely because mine just isn't very useful in any situation I've been in thus far. Most of the healers I've run with have been pretty good at keeping everyone up without burning through MP.

Couldn't down Chimera last night. There was always something wrong with the stunner or silence rotation. It's kind of lame that the majority of the fight relies on three or four people.

Especially after phase 3 in beta where they changed ARC to be more DD-oriented I meant wtf. I honestly thought theirs was the same as BLM/SMM, not WHM/SCH o.O

Even funnier considering ARC's LB is the normal DD one, it only changes when you switch to BRD.

Yes, Dak, very strange that Archer/Bard has a healing LB, guess they wanted one more class/job to be able to heal, but I really don't get it,

I never suggested using LB on plumes, I only meant that the heart is the worst part of Titan (Normal) and probably the best time for it. With Ifrit & Garuda you have plenty of time to kill off the adds, but Titan traps one party member at random which can potentially hinder the party severely for an inexperienced group.

I won the fight without using LB on heart, but I can see why some people would want to.
