Levelling my SCH while also farming the Battlemage's Set for Roleplay Gear. Every single Tank I have been getting on the last boss doesn't understand the concept of running out of the breath attack. It's getting ridiculous, it's not exactly a hard fight either. Here are the tactics:
    1. Keep the boss out of the puddles.
    2. Don't stand in shit.

I inevitably end up OOM every time and we wipe.

I believe the list is arranged by "Date Added" with oldest at the top. It's not exactly an asshole filter, but maybe it will help you keep track of where they might be in the list.

Deleting down to 180 every morning is what I've started doing. The one problem I have with that is that there are some people on my black list who are not spammers but huge assholes, and I'm having trouble remembering which ones they are among all the stolen account names.

SE may actually be doing something, though. I've noticed the tells I get no longer contain URLs. They'll name the character after the website and then reference that in the tell, which indicates some filtering might be taking place.

I've kept mine under 100 by deleting older entries. I haven't ever had an old one reappear either.

*sigh* So that finally happened. This is after deleting all the (Deleted) entries. I've had to blacklist at least a dozen tell spammers today, and it's not even prime time yet. I know this complaint is so last month, but that just makes it worse that SE hasn't fixed this spam problem yet. The wall of shouts in town has stopped, but I think that's less to do with SE as much as RMT realizing that everyone filters shout and yell now and redirecting all their efforts to tell spam.
Too bad you can't counterspam them ... would be interesting if everyone did that would they d/c? Hur hur.

Linen Smocks are the cheapest option, but even then that still means I need more Velveteen. Either way I'm hosed.
If it's a problem with diremite web, do the leve in quarrymill--gives 11 diremite web for 1 initiate's slops (I was able to HQ them easily at level 30, I did HQ cotton turn-in's prior to this) and I can usually get about 3-5 turn-in's before it changes. I just check the leve guy periodically to see if the reward is diremite webs, though some times I do it for the 44 lightning shards as you go through them so easily. With some patience, it's not hard to farm up diremite this way; I ended up with like 6 stacks of 99 direwebs via this leve over a period of a few days.

You can go the even more lazy route and farm up like, several stacks (probably 1000 or more) cotton and turn-in triple HQ leves and bypass the velveteen stage completely. Well I'm not exactly sure this route is lazy given it'll take a long time to farm up 1000+ cotton bolls....and then craft them all into HQ yarn and etc.

Yeah, the mob claiming is so out of hand, it's ridiculous. I've even had mobs claimed before they even appeared on my screen during FATEs that only had 3 or 4 other players in it. I'm going to assume there's so many different kinds of scripts (If it's LUA, then really, it's just simple JavaScripting) you can d/l from those "trainer" sites, like they had for games like Diablo II, kind of like a cheater's boutique. Just d/l the degree of exploitation you're willing to engage in, I suppose.

So it's way worse than I'd thought even...

WTF SE needs to get a handle on this ASAP. I'm honestly kicking myself now for taking the 6-month sub. Yeah sure it was a great discount, but between the shitty world transfer policy and the lack of any real action against such horrendous exploits, and I'm getting fed up with the game rapidly.

The claim botting is out of hand too. It's bad enough people are teleporting to mobs without getting instantanious claims on them to boot. The other day I caught a sheep right as it spawned, tomahawked it (animation whent through and everything) and right as I hit it, someone else got the claim - how the F does that work? Also saw a number of mobs spawn already claimed.

This is what I had suspected all along. The guys in my FC said that all commands send to the server aren't checked ... and they were able to logically deduce this without even checking the script. All they did was observe the behavior between their client and the server and immediately knew something was wrong - we didn't know it was this bad.

SE needs to shutdown the servers and fix this shit. I railed against the launch and thought it should've been delayed a month or more, considering that Open Beta was only a weekend affair. Yoshi-P is going to have some serious explaining to do as you can only track blatant offenders with this. You will not be able to catch the really smart players that will use this exploit, but in ways that they are not going to be detected, and fly under the radar (for example, you could send script commands and give yourself permanent rest exp bonus, or have all FC bonuses active at once) I was highly suspect of many JP players that had multiple 50s in crafts AND combat classes/jobs, and noticed that there were startling rises found similarly in NA/EU players (One does not have 4 or 5 level 50 combat jobs in just a month from doing only FATEs)

It's also possible that the crafting community could be tainted. Giving themselves a full stack of aldgoat hide, for example, converting it from animal skin. Or even resetting their leve allowances. There is so much exploiting going on, it could be possible that this may be the sole cause of server instability. This could also explain the mysterious "I was zoning in and then my gil was all wiped". Another player could have done something while people zone in/out ... I have often wondered why when I noticed people just afk'd at a zone entrance, why they would randomly target players (so they actually were not AFK'd)

As for what I noticed, someone was standing in front of the fish vendor in LL Upper, would warp, and be back 30s later. And the process would repeat endlessly and have been going on for days now. He's probably using that "item conversion" exploit, warping to another vendor to sell of the crap, and rinse and repeat.

Chest hunting wouldn't be very lucrative.

On top of the unusual quirks that comes with them (they like to run off on their on trash packs, they like to reset their stance, etc.) I found out tonight that If you do a primal fight (I was in hard modes, but I presume the same remains for normal..though I can't imagine people would do consecutive normal runs if they succeed the first try) and if you 'place' a pet at a certain area, they will automatically re-appear at that same spot the moment you queue in and do another fight. Wiped two Ifrit groups on the fly this way and I was so embarassed I apologized after the runs and left, refusing to do anymore tonight.

Later on, I found out that the only way to fix this issue is to dismiss your pet after the battle, queue up--and then re-summon your pet once you get in. So stupid. Shouldn't a pet return to being on follow--or despawn following a primal fight? Why would it appear in the same spot, despite being in a completely new instance? >_<

Wrestling with the Fairy AI can get quite frustrating at times. Summoner gets it easy; Ifrit and Garuda require minimal micromanagement and you will rarely need Titan in groups unless you are helping to off-tank.

The Faeries... Fuckers are trying to kill me. Okay, micromanaging their abilities is simple enough, just keybind them to something comfortable and you can micro their every move and every placement in your sleep. However, the main problem is how Steady works. You need to keep hitting the steady hotkey to force the pet to go passive every time you order the pet to use a healing spell, and if you need to be spamming those spells, you start running into problems.
