Actually it depends on the rest of your setup. I had two Nin/war's before 37, two rng (one using bow and one xbow), with smn and blm. No downtime. The Ninjas didn't even tank really...

Well, we don't usually expect a tank as a good DD although NIN/WAR at higher LV (70+) can do a good amount of damage while tanking (but requires some of excellent gears). I, of course, understand what you're saying. What we need now is a change of idea - NIN as a tank or DD?

Anyway, it must be intersting to see 4 NINs in one PT, 2 tanks (NIN/WAR) and 2 DDs (NIN/RNG). I'm not sure how superior NIN/RNG is compared to RNG/NIN or RNG/WAR but there're many NINs in my server around mid LV30s. Wanna take logs with FFrep if I have a chance.

I never really liked buddy vokers... up to 30 thfs made the best distraction sneak attack pulled it off long enough for an utsusemi recast so so many times. and in qufim giants have horrible accuracy and pugs... never really gave me too much trouble. i hate crabs with all my heart tho... in LTP, in valk, qufim, kuftal, boyhada, terrigan. except castle oz maybe. oh and i almost forgot gustav.

the jungles are a mess tho... unless you fight conventional wisdom and gobbies. dragging a pt to Batallia, or the Yuhutunga outpost is about the best thing you can do aside from getting a buddy voker... or subbing rng...

the 30's can be kinda rough early on but if you milk the jungle to 32 in gobby pt's you won't have to deal with bats and their evasion down much. by then you can do crawlers which... aren't the most accurate of mobs. or east altepa but i never really went there much... and i hate beetles almost as much as i hate crabs. anyway at this point joining with a thf and another tank really shines tho. or 2 thf. then 37 comes along and either you quit the job or... become uber.

my favorite jungle party was nin/drg/rng/rdm/smn/brd. we were pulling 2 mandras at a time and working our way to 260-280 xp gobs at 26-27. the dragoon had to go so we doubled up on rangers until I and another person hit 28. the summoner and brd were both good friends of mine and if i could stay in rhythm i'd take maybe one or 2 crits a fight. rangers like to slow down at times like this btw i've noticed ><

ninja damage is vastly underrated imo as an aside. with current katanas and/or swords or a mix at those levels.

Arg... I went from 28 to 30 last night, and had a chance to party with both a RNG/NIN and RNG/THF. However, while I did have the parser running, I forgot to hit CTRL+P to actually make it start parsing. I'm rather upset about this, because I was destroying both of them in damage (but obviously, I'm using a gun and they are using bows). This is all I could get from the logs after the fact:

How can you keep saying this shit? Saying lower levels arn't part of the 'real' game. You may as well be saying 'it's ok to be gimp until upper levels, cause that's all that matters yo!!!11'. It's as part of the 'real game' as much as any other level, it just has different circumstances. And to say it's pointless to be the best within a certain level range is also heavily retarded. If you had rng subable for those levels and it therefore made you the best nin you could be, then by all means you should do it.

EDIT: I also want to give props to Spider-Dan for keeping his cool and combating these lame flames in a professional matter. Rather than switching his focus by attacking the flamers he just keeps presenting data and only seems concerned with facts, not opinions. He isn't even stating 'hey do this instead' he's just presenting the facts to let us think about it and maybe help us, i dont' see where that draws need for all these flames.
