Go delete your character and play with hot wheels, or barbies this game is a bit to advanced for you, and you just suck to much to play it.

You've got a real ego problem Niexist. I know this may sound trite, but are you just compensating for real life inadequacies by touting your supposed online supremacy?

1) You make horribly irrelevant and unintelligent arguments and posts.
2) You look down on everyone for no real reason.
3) You think your character is somehow better than all the clones of you out there.
4) You are stuck in your own little world where you are supreme.

It seems to me that you are now supplementing your real life inadequacies with some virtual fallacies. I know some people use online games and addictions as a means of escape from an otherwise painful or disturbing reality (as I'm sure yours may be). However, it is an extreme if that escape becomes pure fantasy to you, where you cannot even grasp reality at all.

Sorry Niexist, but you get no respect here. Your arguments are moot and you say ignorant comments like, "YOU CANNOT COMPARE JOB'S DAMAGE" or "I DO MORE DAMAGE THAN RNG AND BLM!"

Bragging that you are level 50 as a NA player is rather pathetic. First of all, I know several of friends who are higher level than you now, and a few that are 55-60. Thing is, they don't brag and have an unrealistic image of themselves like you do. Get your head out of the clouds, you're not special, and you're not fooling anyone.

yeah, it almost certainly is - so the fact you can get to lv50 in 2 months, but zand/anyone else does it in 6+ months. doesn't that tell you something?
some of us would rather have fun with this game, exploring its many facets, rather than just levelling none-stop as i'm sure you do.

You know i really dont understand why you guys continue to bas Niex for his comments. From what i read, Hes only been trying to argue that inthe PT's HE has been in, hes outdamaged what he says he has.

You guys on the other hand dont even want to have a discussion about it, you tell him hes a Noob and an idiot, but hardly even try to compare to what hes saying, you just throw out a few numbers and say, hey well i do this, so im better.

Jittanx, I understand your desire for a more mature discussion... I am all in favor for it. But before you label people as hypocrites, you should seriously look at yourself.

I cannot speak for the other posters in this thread, but I have done nothing to call anyone a n00b or any other derogatory term UNLESS THEY PROVED IT THEMSELVES in something they wrote.

If you actually read all four pages of this post, you'll realize a few things:

1) Niexist is ANTI-DISCUSSION. He tells us that we cannot possibly compare jobs ever because they are too different, so he tells us that we shouldn't even have this discussion. This is contradictory to what you expressed you want. And contrary to what he may believe, jobs can still be compared "in general", i.e. with reference to how the majority of players or good players use their character. This is what the majority of the people in this thread is discussing: the general comparisons between jobs and their roles in parties.

2) Niexist is here to brag about himself. This is incredibly obvious by reading all of his posts in here. He brags that, despite all calculations and reality, he can do more damage than RNG, DRK, and even other DRG that have same equipment as him.

3) He is not here to contribute to the discussion at all, again contrary to what you want. See former two points. Yes I know I am beating this into your head, but if actually read all 4 pages and still think I'm being hypocritical, this is the only method.

I don't think anyone is a n00b. "n00b" is too general a term and can be used to describe anyone. I called Niexist egotistical, which he obviously is. n00b can have a myriad of standards; what exactly separates the n00bs from the non-n00bs?

a) level? certainly not, you don't need to be a high level in order to be a good player, and vice versa.
b) playtime? this helps more, since you have more experience to know the game. FFXI, much like other MMORPGs, is not just about the experience stat. Import players win here.
c) intelligence and validity of arguments? This helps a lot too; if someone is stubborn and ignorant, it's almost pointless to argue with them. Likewise, if they aren't smart enough to form well thought out counterpoints, they will never make their points clear. Niexist loses here.
d) some obscure stat such as level/playtime? Who cares? Why not just base it on another obscure stat like (rank+gil)*(number of letters in your name)?

Nothing against you, but you should try to comprehend the entire thread before barging in, using a 'holier than thou' attitude and telling everyone to shut up.

Nix John and i have played for about 5 months+.. We used the JPN version, Ruderion is a lower lv then you and he isnt a noob Ruds been playing longer then me.. lv doesnt mean anything nor how long your game play time is..youve only played for about 1 month thats why John refers to you as new.

Do you honestly think there is more to master in this game than can be done in a month? This isn't a complex MMORPG requiring split second decisions, amazing amounts of knowledge of character allocation.

When it comes down to actual knowledge about the game, and gameplay and not star trek nerd trivia like, "Who was king longdong's first wife's dog's brother" since no one is impressed by someone who memorizes facts like that.

Really John Doe, I'd like to hear some of this amazing knowledge you have as such an experienced player. Teach all of the uncleansed masses! Surely you have much wisdom to impart upon us.

I hear a lot about all this great knowledge that importers have, yet I've never seen them say anything I didn't already know about the game, or read any of their "guides" that said anything that wasn't just garbage they stole from a japanese website.


PS : on a completely unrelated subject, there is a new crowd of fanboi's on my server, these are the kind that lie, claiming to be importers, but can't provide any evidence/proof of it such as a character name, or account name. Importers may be stupid for thinking they somehow know more about a game this simple, but people who pretend to be one of them are even dumber.

You come in obviously not knowing anything about the conversation, slap around a few generalities and labels as you deem fit, then tell everyone to "shut up" as if it is your god-given right to order people around from your pedestal. I and many others in this thread are open to a good argument or debate. However, when certain individuals degenerate into arguing with obscure stats (playtime/level, or "I outdamage everything with no proof, so my job is the best") or the crybaby routine ("shut up because I tell you to dammit!"), you know nothing intelligent is going surface.

The conversation is about the role and DPS of different classes. Let me repeat this to you. Niexist is saying there is no way to compare jobs, saying this entire thread is pointless. There, can you read that? It has nothin to do with me, Mak, JohnDoe, or anyone else. He is just claiming there is no way to compare anything and we should just shut up. Maybe you should read a little O Mighty One.

Anyways, I agree with at least one thing. Mods, lock this thread please. Little has been added to the actual debate since the first page, due to initial insults and misinformation from certain individuals. Most people here tend to be too stubborn or full of themself to actually try to contribute to the original post with concrete analysis and experience.

level 60 dragoon here.


FACTS:
- we can outdamage a drk easily without wyvern. The wyvern is just icing on the cake.

- Guilotine is NOT overrated. it's an awsome WS, but it's also the death of many Drk and can't be used near often as penta.. so it adds up.

- I said it once, I'll say it again. A good drk pwns a normal dragoon.. A good dragoon crushes a normal Drk. A good drg vs a good drk don't care who does more damage, they care about killing the monsters together. Penta >> Guilotine = Fun renkei.

looks the spear it the fastest 2h weapon at least from my sources and the scythe is slow the dragoons r stronger have faster weapons and better srmour dark knights have crap armour low hits but hight offensive if they do hit more dragons hit more often and last longer of the field!

Umm...wrong on many counts there. DRG have the worst armour options possible, while DRK can at least wear plate armour to make up for their terrible DEF. DRGs are stuck with less defense than a taru WHM. (I'm not making that up, I compared my DEF at 66, with full AF to a 67 Taru WHM...and lost by 30 points)

Niexist, come off it, really. There is no way you do as much damage as you say. I have been through the same levels, with the best equipment, and I didn't do it. So you sure as hell aren't.

Uh yeah you're wrong on both counts, scythe's are faster or the same speed as spears I believe. and dark knights where an armor class higher than dragoon. We wear the same armor as rangers, they are in half the armors that can only be worn by war/pld/sam
