drk and sam are the only 2 classes where you don't have any passives or actives to help you it... it can't be helped. I've seen a mithra drk miss all 4 hits on guillotine before as well... on simurgh :p it really all depends on your party support and the monsters you're fighting for accuracy; either you hit real well or you don't hit for shit. Damage on the other hand...

sry sir! what you think means litterally nothing to what I say. Every single elvaan or galka dragoon I know whines about thier accuracy, and I love mine. My accuracy is way higher, and I put out alot more damage than my galka dragoon rival. So when you wake up from your "Elvaant teh win!" fantasy world, maybe you'll have enough millions of gil to close the accuracy gap between mithra and yourself.

MIthra have 4-5 more accuracy but Elvaan have 4-5 more attack, i t's pretty damned equal.

Im lvl 30 Elvaan Dragoon/theif and i dont miss much, but i do hit for more the mithra dragoons. I do more damage then Humes as well. Didnt miss much to begin with but after that accuracy bunus at lvl 30 i rarely miss at all. I gather TP alot faster then most people i group with. But i have 2 balance rings and other expensive equipment, always stay up to date in everything.

I like galkas for pretty much anything melee. Great HP, great STR, great VIT, good DEX, and good AGI make for the best all around fighter.

Mithras make great damagers because of their accuracy. People go after Accuracy items for a reason. Accuracy is the single most important stat for a damager. Now, you won't notice much difference between the hit/miss rate of a Mithra versus the hit/miss rate of a Galka or Hume, but you WILL notice the difference between a Mithra and an Elvaan with their crappy DEX. And I've never really noticed much about an Elvaan's "higher damage". All I notice is that they sure do miss a lot.


They way I see it, Humes and Elvaans don't really have a niche as to which job type they play best.

Galkas are the best tanks. Nothing tanks better than a fatty. Galka is my favorite race for WAR, PLD, and even SAM.

Mithras are the best damage dealers, such as THF, RNG, DRG, etc. (except for DRK. Galka > all for DRK because of HP).

Tarus are the best casters. No argument here, really.

Humes and Elvaans are just there. They are second best or worse at pretty much everything.

Dex isn't only the accuracy boost, but also critical rate.. and a mithra usually criticals A LOT.

Personally, I don't like elvaan attackers.. i would prefer mithra, human or galka.. its just too funny when i once pt'ed with 2 elvaan drks (i was a pld) and the 2 dudes missed renkei at the same time...

I meant.. they simply missed hitting... not the timing or WS.. (was doing vorpal scythe > slice or nightmare i am not sure)... maybe i just happened to meet suck ones :p

For the str issue, who cares you eat mithra kabob anyway.. how many ppl outthere eating accuracy or dex food?

well, dont get me wrong.. elv could be a good attacker but you just have to work hard on ur gears.. a lot harder to compensate what you lack.. compared to mithra.

I tend to prefer my attackers to be well equipped elvs over Mithras.. as a whm, Mithra attackers who get hit annoy me because it means I have to dump lots of cure on them... an elv with up to date equipment for a melee(+accuracy stuff) is just as good, if not better due to higher vit...
Galka obviously would make the best tank, but I've seen excellent Elv PLDs... their higher MND and MP(over galka) shows a lot.

LOL Me Darla and Jeeb always talk about the ELV's :sweat: I always defend them since they are so strong and I like there STR. People depend on DEX too much.

both are problems how ever you see it. if mit get str equips it wont be a problem a for elv for dex equips.

Aye... I was in a PT last night with a Mithra RNG who I had to keep curing about twice as much as the other melees in the PT (one Hume DRG and two Elvaan WARs, besides myself (Taru WHM) and a Taru BLM up on Qufim.

And she (the Mithra) was the puller... she hit for a ton initially with a ranged attack, and kept the hate off of us mages for the most part, but seemed to be very mana intensive to keep alive, even with Regen.

As for Taru Melee'ers (or Galka Mages) ... I meet that with an odd combination of disbelief and admiration.

Disbelief, in that someone would want to pick a race that would be incredibly gimped in its class...

And...

...Admiration for those who can get to high levels, like the Lvl. 72 Galka WHM I saw in AF gear, or the high level Taru SAMs and DRKs I have seen in Jeuno quite a bit.
