Um... I'm a BST!!! What do you mean CHR is broken?? Seriously... did I miss something that i really need to know? Shit.. this is like the time I figured out 10 levels after I got Tame that it can stop an aggro from a monster >.>

Oh, and thanks for the PLD info btw... but, does that mean Paladins aren't the ultimate tanks anymore?

CHR is broken too for BST (somewhat/joking) . But that's another story...

Otherwise Callisto has it all correct.

Re: Rumor: Paladin Broken Vitality at 75?

What they were actually referring to is this:

Basically normal physical damage is calculated by some form of Base Damage x multipliers, both for us and for mobs. Base Damage for us is a mix of base weapon damage, added to a few other modifers such as a function of our STR minus the mob's VIT, and additional ones if it's a WS, and all this is multiplied by a function of our Attack minus the mob's Defense. The higher the base damage, the higher the end result after it's multiplied obviously.

For the largest high-end mobs, they have very, very high base damage, what would be considered our base weapon damage. For players, we swing at these mobs with 40-95~ damage weapons, they swing back with the equivalent of 120+ damage weapons. This means that no matter how much Defense or VIT you stack on, they're still going to hit you for a large amount even with a low multiplier, because their base damage is just so high. Add this to the fact that they have very high Attack and STR naturally and you get them hitting you very hard by nature.

Since you can't do much about actually getting slapped for 100+ every single swing the mob takes, which not only sucks MP but also creates hate loss like Cotners said, the preferred option is to instead gear for Haste/Enmity and focus on mitigating the damage with shadows instead.

I wouldn't say broken... infact just the opposite. Added VIT and Def does very little for a pld in the way of reducing dmg. Blood tanking just isn't as effective as blink tanking because of mp usage and emnity loss from taking dmg.

Rumor: Paladin Broken Vitality at 75?

Like the post says, someone told me that Paladin Vitality Stat was somehow broken at or around lvl 75.

    Can someone care to explain?
