This is why I think all these people voting for any other weapon aside from Gjallarhorn have no clue what they're talking about and have never seen any of the completed relics in action first-hand.

Yeah, but if I have a relic weapon I want to be smacking the mobs around with it and not sitting there singing songs

I have absolutely no intention of ever pursuing an upgraded relic, but if I did, it would be the Gjallarhorn all the way. I could be adorable and uber at the same time. :3

Is the effect of Gjallarhorn really that dramatic? The +2 to all songs saves a lot of swapping between weapons, but I bet you could buy a +2 song instrument for each type of song for less money than it takes to upgrade the relic horn. +10 skill probably makes it easier to stick lullaby and elegy, but does it increase their potency? Any effect on buffs?

Gjallarhorn gives +2MP per Ballad effect. That's why it's so bloody powerful, because a single Bard with it gives 7 MP per tick to his party (yes, I've experienced this firsthand, and yes, it really is as outrageously good as you can imagine). This is why I think all these people voting for any other weapon aside from Gjallarhorn have no clue what they're talking about and have never seen any of the completed relics in action first-hand.

The only "group" useful relic is the horn, but let's be honest, how many of you actually have a 75 BRD main?

I have a 75 Bard. It's not my main, but it's curious that, of the dozens of basic relic weapons I've received in Dynamis, the only one I've kept is the Relic Horn. Not that I am really ever going to upgrade it, but if I were going to upgrade any relic, it would definitely be my first pick.

Since out of all those jobs, PLD is the only one that can use Aegis, its highly useful for the job. Same as Gjallarhorn for BRD. They are each indespensable for their respective jobs. Most other relics are highly useful for the jobs that use them, but these two make a world of difference and make any party where one of the members has one of these items highly more useful.

What people forget when they say Aegis is that it's only useful with a shield skill. Currently, in the game, only these jobs will really benefit from a shield:

WAR
THF
RDM
WHM
PLD
BST

Of the jobs that actually use shield for more than just aesthetic reasons, PLDs, BSTs and RDMs greatly benefit from the use of such a relic item. I fail to see, in the hands of a non-tank how this would "greatly help a group."

Back to the poll, I just have to choose Apocalypse, mostly because I'm partial to the weapon selection myself.

Gugnir, +20acc tossed in with my other gear and I think I can laugh at Byakko.

Otherwise... Ragnarok, I forget the exact stats on it, but the WS looks good, drain is always nice (unless you just used Apocalpse on a skeleton) and haste is nice too.

real power for aegis and gjallarhorn is they effect the entire group, with aegis your tank survives thus the mob doesn't go killing everyone else :D and gjallarhorn well buffs everyone which makes them the most useful overall in nearly all endgame situations

The Gjallarhorn is by far the most practical of them all.

The Aegis is worth the investment, too, but unlike the Gjallarhorn, (if you don't want to get technical) it really only benefits its wielder.

Everything else is just a fancy toy.

I'm a bard soooooo i'll just say horn because of the slots it will loosen up(like 15+). One insturment to do all the tricks. but for melee weapon, Gungnir. I'm a norse junky and well 30-50 shock spikes. Yes please.
