Entire life and moral code, no. Entire range of stories that can be told and make sense with each other, yes. If you can't imagine how Home Points as real or not real changes an entire subsection of society -- the one that the game revolves around, at that -- then I'm not sure it's worth the bother to explain how that mismatch in views on the way the world works would lead to conflict.
Back on topic: People who don't know when not to build parties. Sometimes odd configurations work, mind you... but I'm sorry, but if all you can find seeking are five DDers and you have to pester a non-seeking summoner to "main heal" as your sixth, you probably should have just kept seeking.
