I wish I could say I was surprised that the JPN were being given preferential treatment again... They get the entire day, americans get realistically 4 hours assuming you have any responsibilities in your life besides this game.

There's simply no possible way that everyone in the world would be able to get the exact same treatment with a release like this. They're doing it as fairly as they can... even if they released it the second that midnight hit the International Date Line, Japan would still get "Preferential treatment" because they're further East than North America.

Considering that this info was posted on the US version stating the 19th and in the evening that would likely mean they are stating PST (Like they always do) which mean in like 2-3 hrs it'll probably be going.

Yes but saying "the 19th the expansion goes live" was really vague (and a shitty way to treat us)

The xbox version DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I understand if the expansion isn't live But you can't even log in to the existing expansions!

Also.. goes live the 19th? Last time I checked it's been the 19th for 16 hours. I checked at midnight, then at 9am, then at JPN midnight (11 our time) then again around 1. Still nothing. And no announcement otherwise. I took all the time to hook up my xbox and get everything switched over from ps2 and now I can't even login.

And when I ask for help on these forums, or KI, or alla, everyone said "It goes live at JPN midnight". Like everyone else KNOWS and I'm an idiot for not knowing. And you know what? It didn't go live. Way to be a dick people when you don't have a clue (mostly people on OTHER forums though).

So now people are saying 11pm EST which is JPN noon. They are saying THEY KNOW. How the hell should they know when I've spent all day trying to figure it out? And why would xbox version say the 19th if it goes live 1 hour before the 19th becomes the 20th?

(I'm just angry because I'm at work and can leave whenever, but don't want to go home to an xbox that still says "goes live the 19th")

lol, for all I care they can wait for another hour before I get home for them to go live...but so help me if they don't get it in tonight.

Hmm perhaps you should read my original post. I had FFXI for xbox at 11am yesterday. I'm aware now that it doesn't work. But nobody else was at the time.

I wholeheartedly agree with this entire post. I've been equally frustrated because I only have off on tuesday and wednesdays, so this has been my weekend. And tomorrow I go back to work for 9 hour shifts, and can't even enjoy. Even though I've had the game since noon yesterday for 360, I can't even play it, cause of this SE is favoring japan! What the hell was the point of releasing it tuesday!

There's no reason why the content should go live at NOON JP time. What is wrong with 8AM or earlier to allow the NA time to play. If we're expected to stay up late just to get to play at time of launch, they can wake up early.

First off SE like to be vague I agree, but they are also very careful with their words. They said "evening on April 19th" which if you want to get technical equates to being around 3PM - 7PM. Now to also further add when they state times on that website they've always based them to Pacific Standard (PST or PDT) not Eastern.

So with that said the start of evening technically for PST is in about 17 min... and goes for 4hrs. So SE didn't lie yet they just are really crafty with their words.
