Chobi Digging Skill

choci digging

ok I got interested in chocobo digging after i read this post, so I purchased some greens and went out digging.

Now I'm still waiting for a lower wait time but it's stayed the same as it was from the start.

I've dug up 3 stacks for bonechips
2 stacks of rattan lumber
2 stacks of cinnamon
5 rosewood
and 5 danceshrooms

I've even dug up a petrified log 6K on Kujata

It's been very profitable, but also very time consuming

I've spent around 15k total on greens so far.

Now i'm just curiuos to anyone that's "lvld up" their chocobo skill:
about how long did the first lvl take.?

I always figured there would be an NPC that would ask you to do something like this.

I'll have to go check out Mhaura since you mentioned that when i get home.

Allright.
I am a noobie at this gardening thing. I don't know if I recorded enough information or not. Would someone please let me know if and what I should be keeping track of.


for 11 gyshal greens I planted veggie seeds on earth day and fed it a wind crystal

just started 'digging' yesterday and here are some places/items i have found (nothing big tho ^^)

seems like pebbles can be dug up everywhere

Digging quest in Mhaura

This discussion on digging Chocobo reminds me of someone i talked to, an npc, in Mhaura. He had something to do with antiques and said something about following the goblins. he also said after finding enough to come back to him. That was back in Beta, and I dont have the game now so I cant go check it out.

only way to check the skill is to dig and count the number of error messages before next dig.

oh wow thanks for information no wonder so many people dig. also i found somewhere chicken bones are found in tahrongi the best. says its a easy item but i guess my skill is low

And the "test" to get to a new skill level, do you just have to keep digging till you find it? Can you find it anywhere or in specific areas? Let's say on the first dig i ever did I get a rattan lumbe, is my skill level promoted, so that i have to lesser wait time? or do I have to spend at least 30 mins of constant digging and getting hidden "skill ups" before i have a chance of digging up rattan lumber?

About the goblin digger, do you just dig where he stops or is there an actual animation for him digging?

SO i'm guessing there's diffrent items you can get in different zones, but in different area in those zones?
IE: I have to dig near the lake to get x item.

I got the titles off the link i provided , itseems Square has many hidded features in the game, i just translated from a japanese website I found.

Also this test is not an exact science. on your first dig you could conceivably pass the "test" .
think of chobi digging like GPS caching , where you can go into to a known area where people lose and drop items, sometimes you find them and sometimes you dont.
But lets say the person you are to get the item for wants a ruan log to pass his "test" and you find it first try .
you pass simple as that.
OR you could just take your time and look around for the items.
spending the gil on ghysal greens and getting hidden skill ups.

also the goblin digger does have a rare animation in which it digs.
you can pretty much go /follow on a digger and let him go around and then dig on the area he travels.

yeah I havent finished the xzone list yet but will post it when i have enough time.
