It took me 25 levels to realize that requiem really wasn't just like dia, as I'd originally heard. I still don't understand the nuances of some songs, mainly because the effects of most are hidden from sight (madrigal's actual acc bost, march's haste increase, mambo's evade increase, etc).

Honestly though, this is semi-understandable for the useless songs. Bards are trained to use madrigal, minuet, ballad, elegy, finale, lull, paeon, minne and threnody. Other songs just fall by the wayside, except in rare occasionns, lie with carol.

Personally, I thought mambo was useless until Atrox wanted to try using it on his ninja while tanking skeletons in Garlaige. Since then, he makes me throw another song into my setup on high accuracy mobs. Good thing he didn't like march or I'd go crazy.

          I think...

          Lazy Bard
          > Requiem, Carnage Energy only
          > Mandrigal, Minuet Melees
          > Ballad I & II Mages
          > Attack monster and heal without worrying about anything else

          Good Bard
          > Plays stats up songs for relevant attackers before renkei
          > Knows when to use Minne instead of Minuet and double Mandrigal instead of either
          > Plays correct elemental defense down song according for magic burst
          > Knows what job needs what song

theres no point, there more sucky brds then good ones. Alot of people play brd just to level fast.

P.S you people are fighting a lost cause. When will you ever get over yourselves about JP and NA, its like reading a F****** drama every day about this. Everyday its a new drama about JP and NA.

Eh, so I'm a mix of lazy and good I guess. *shrugs* You forgot finale on there though, and I partially disagree with singing stat-up songs for renkei. I think the latter is a result of my set having two mnks and a ninja blinktank, thus resulting in some different circumstances.

Silly question though, why would a lazy bard even use requiem? I, personally, don't see any point in using that song. Waste of time that could be better spent otherwise.

I believe the answer to this question is server specific. On Titan the JP were dominant, but on Asura I've yet to have seen anyone wearing a piece of relic equipment.

I'm sure the JP on Asura have about the same amount of patience and skill and head-start as the JP on other servers, but they simply cannot make up for their lack of numbers.

On Asura, the NA will eventually dominate, but I don't see it happening anywhere else.

Also...for different spells such as slow, para, etc, the serenades allow tote2's to cast upon without much resistance. I've rarely seen any bards use different serenades at different points in the fight, less than a handful of them do that.

Agreed. Cant see why established JP players would come to Asura anyway. You've already established your game and friends.

Remember, the world shifters came in late november, only about a month after the game came out in NA. Some claim that crappy players came to Asura because they had bad reps and no friends. I disagree. I think Asura is, although loaded with idiots (like any other server) has a number of good NA players that can possibly take on the JPs in about another year or so.

Yes... Asura has very good na players.

Still, I'd have to insist... mixed parties are the best... I don't like discussing who's better, because I've seen good and bad players of both sides, at least here in Asura.

I must agree that a lot of people on the north american client (please also remember not all of us are people from the US) lack the etiquette of the haijins in the beginning, but it is slowly evening up.
