Re: General Discussion
Adding a full campaign synopsis on the Blog. It's slow going... but when it's finished it's going to be awesome. Have a look at what I've done so far. Take note that I used a little creative license when writing it to make it sound more like a story and less like a list of events. I also wrote out TM and Murph due to their limited time in the party. They are instead, the 2 guards who accompany the party on the original search and rescue mission for the duke's daughter, after which they part ways.
As for Adam... he did some funny-ass stuff during his limited time playing and I did effectively write him out within the story. His death is also party of the package that ultimately turned Mezlo Evil... so it's necessary to keep his chunk in there to help paint the full picture.
In the end... there may be small inaccuracies and a few dashes of poetic license... but who cares. Enjoy!

Re: General Discussion
Theron's reaction to it cracked me up. "Hey guys there's a person in this!"Originally posted by cidbahamut View PostI kind of feel bad for turning down the dagger Yyg designed specifically for my character, but fuck it that thing sets off all kinds of red flags for my character. An inanimate object that freezes time, talks in my head and tells me it was once a person and has been in contact with this nasty shadarkai for countless years? Fuck that noise, my character wants to get as far away from that thing as possible. Nothing good can come of getting mixed up with that sorcery.
I really appreciate that you added some sweet loot for me Yyg, but that thing freaks my character the fuck out.

Re: General Discussion
Something I just noticed and want to bring up for clarification:
Wizard - Pathfinder_OGC
We don't have Spellbooks since you houseruled it so Wizards prepare spells in the same way as Clerics. Does this mean we just take any spell from the pool of spells that we have prepared, or since there's no spellbooks, treat it like a bonus spell from any spell we can cast?A bonded object can be used once per day to cast any one spell that the wizard has in his spellbook and is capable of casting, even if the spell is not prepared. This spell is treated like any other spell cast by the wizard, including casting time, duration, and other effects dependent on the wizard's level. This spell cannot be modified by metamagic feats or other abilities. The bonded object cannot be used to cast spells from the wizard's opposition schools (see arcane school below).
Reason why I'm asking is that because, well I never thought to ask about how the spell preparation system we use changes how Arcane Bond works until I was looking over my character sheet to prepare for today's session.

Re: General Discussion
I would have gone with sneak attacking Adam's character but whatever works I guess.

Re: General Discussion
I'm the only non-thief that can sneak attack. Remember when I sneak attacked Lily with my junk?

Re: General Discussion
Actually the Greataxe comment was more the sheer hilarity of the mental image Sneak Attacking with a weapon like that conjures. As someone who plays Rogues quite often, finding amusing things to sneak attack with is something I like to do. It's the reason why I begged the group to let me Coup de Grace the Golem (or was it a Gargoyle?) way back with a hammer.
In college I was in a campaign with someone who tried to Sneak Attack with a ballista. Emphasis on "tried", the DM did manage to stop laughing at him for long enough to tell him there's no way in hell he's allowing that.

yes he is, I've proven this multiple times.Originally posted by Firewind View PostAre you an idiot?
Yyg loves trying to do this. Sometimes he'll take just one sentence out of an entire post, skew the meaning of the sentence to something totally different just so he can be at odds with it, and then make an arguement against something no one gives an F about.Originally posted by Firewind View PostStop trying to create an argument where there is none with people who already agreed with you.

Are you an idiot? Look up my old posts on alignment and you're basically posting exactly what I've been arguing about treating alignment. Stop trying to create an argument where there is none with people who already agreed with you.

Re: General Discussion
I'd say it's more a reflection of your character's personality. It's a subtle but important distinction.Originally posted by Yygdrasil View PostDude... alignment IS your character's personality.

Re: General Discussion
Dude... alignment IS your character's personality. The point of the game isn't to continually justify your actions by creating loopholes in logic that allow you to do whatever you want. The point is to play as the character you chose. If you don't want to take chaotic good actions, you shouldn't be a chaotic good character. If you want to justify doing fuck all then you should have picked True Neutral.Originally posted by Firewind View PostAnd I need to say this: for the love of god alignment does not make your character. In our campaign I've taken plenty of actions that aren't chaotic or good because it would be what the character would have done strictly at that time. Seriously any time I see someone who says "I'm [alignment] so I HAVE to X" I feel like smacking them until they learn the definition of "creativity".
There's only so much room for stretching the boundaries of your alignment in a game. One such example is the Paladin who is confronted with a possessed villager holding a knife to the throat of another villager and saying "Kill me or I kill her". Neither Choice is Lawful Good... but total inaction is even worse. In such a scenario, there is justification to kill one of them if no other recourse is available... but it would come with a heavy weight on the character's conscience from that point forward... likely driving them to seek forgiveness.
IMHO, Chaotic/Good, Chaotic Neutral and True Neutral are nothing but cop-out alignments for players who do not want to have limitations to their actions.
Breaking the confines of your alignment does not constitute "Creativity", Fire. Creativity is finding a means to the same end while staying in character and true to your alignment.

Also:
You're absolutely right. That is a fantastic combination for someone who cares for nothing but being the strongest possible thing they can create.Originally posted by Firewind View PostHalf Orc Rogues actually work surprisingly well since you can Power Attack Sneak Attack with a fucking GREATAXE in Pathfinder.
