    Re: The E3 2011 thread

    Quick impression of Nintendo:

    - Wii U name is a bit silly. I can understand wanting to sort of hang onto the "Wii" marketing hype, but the hype isn't really there any more.

    - The controller looks like a disaster to me. Terrible control layout. TERRIBLE. Analog nubs? Worst element of the PSP, and this thing has TWO of them. And ABOVE the face buttons? How does that even work?

    - 3DS software lineup announcement was unimpressive as well.

    Overall: Not impressed. D+

I do the new Nintendo system (other then the size of the controller) but I am sure it is something to get used to.

I like all the ideas they have to use it in different ways, hell DS/3DS games could be ported to Wii U easy now.

The controller does seem to have some functionally of its won without the system. but very limited.

    Yeah, not enough info.

I dunno, I'm just not feeling the excitement coming out of E3 like I did at last year's. I liked all 3 shows, but I just don't feel blown away by anything.

    .....no its not -.-

the system looks almost like a thicker Wii, and the controller is the controller

still waiting to hear about their online service..... if it is as bad as the Gamecube/wii then that will be a problem

They're really dragging on with the 3DS stuff...

It's cool, but get Reggie off the stage already and have Iwata show off Cafe already.

I enjoyed the storyline in CoD4:MW. It was short, coherent, and didn't outlast its welcome. I haven't liked any of the main campaigns since then. I find it offensive that the writers for the series think pathos = killing off the current main character, and they use that gimmick way too often.

For once I agree with you, but that's completely unheard of in the land of consoles!!!

I watched the MW3 footage, and it was boring. The reload animation was boring, the death animations were boring, the action scenes were boring. The sounds of the guns were also pretty boring, and that's something important to do right. The reload animation looked like it was only half there. The player character would tilt the gun up and reveal an empty receiver, as if a magazine had been missing all along. Then he'd pull a magazine out of mid air and calmly slide it into his gun. It was devoid of character. I never did play it for the campaign, though, so we'll see how they do when it comes to multiplayer.

You know what would make the PS3 beyond awesome? 1GB+ RAM.

IMO, it's Nintendo's to lose at this point.

I for one, am really hoping for HD Metroid footage. Sony's conference would have been an A for me if they had gotten to NGP sooner, and if the bulk of their content hadn't already been leaked or previewed weeks beforehand. The lack of really awesome surprises is what killed it.

Also WTF nothing from SE this year, and no KB? What really cheesed me off was Battlefield 3 and Bioshock 3's exclusives.

Oh yeah, an old game bundled with both of them that I've already played and don't want. Thanks, Jack. You had me going when you mentioned extra space on Blu Ray, just to drop the failbomb of Battlefield 1943. For a split second I actually thought he was going to say that the PS3 version would be graphically superior for once, and take full advantage of the hardware.

Still waiting for Devs to use PS3's capabilities to the maximum. I liken it to playing a game on PC with SLI/Cross-fire set up on my rig, only every damn game you own doesn't support it.

That's not to say PS Vita will automatically do well at the exact same price point, but for pure gamers, it's a much closer call than NDS vs PSP, and that alone is a small win for Sony.
well I do not know about other people, but like the DS, my PSVita will be playing my PSP stuff from PSN for a good 2 months after I get it ;p
