Re: The E3 2011 thread
It's pretty much what I was expecting. Hardware specs are not all confirmed but it will support 1080p and has a custom quad-core Intel chip. I'm pretty excited to be able to play the system from my bed in another room.

Reading what I missed, now I don't feel like watching what I missed. :< Wii-U looks like shed.

The PEZ dispenser alone could sell just about any product it was tacked onto.

Re: The E3 2011 thread
LOL yeah I know but still that's a boss TV >_>
I'd say we're a good 2 years off from them being standard. I'm still waiting for Sony or someone to bring out the fucking 3D TVs that don't require the Glasses though. It's not like the tech isn't there (Hi2u 3DS) just not on a large enough scale yet.

8000p?! It's so real that it's unreal! FOR REAL.

Re: The E3 2011 thread
I was under the assumption that it was for the press at the conference. Though I probably misheard the announcement. ><Originally posted by Armando View Post$6 seems a bit steep for Link's Awakening.
Also, what's up with that free Four Swords thing I'm hearing about?

That doesn't mean you're going to get a console 5.65 times more powerful, but it's unreasonable to think they haven't upgraded the hardware much - especially since the Wii capped at 480p, while 1080p has 6.75 times the amount of pixels to render. Just look at the difference in graphics power between the 3DS and the DS.
You're correct on the size/power issue though. At that size it's unlikely to run hot, much like the Wii, so they're still being conservative by today's standards. That's probably for the best anyhow, since the controller won't be cheap, regardless of how many of them you need.

I hate how a lot of the 'next gen' games have a weird gloss on them, as if that adds to some sort of realism. "Ok.. this blanket isn't next gen enough, let's make shine like a freshly painted car!"
