Can make Transfixion, but there is nothing to chain to Dragon Kick to make Light (Dragon Kick can chain with Asuran Fists in XI, but since AF is an HP attack, that doesn't work in 012)

Surprisingly, no one has beat the game so it is still unknown

I'm really digging all the changes so far.

The newer system pushes you to use HP Attacks and chase more often while Assists can mitigate damage, cancel EX modes and let you do HP attacks from a safer distance. Chase mode is faster, but you get quite a bit more EX out of a successful chase this time around rather than waiting for cores to show up.

They did quite a bit to prevent the fights from being one-sided blow-outs this time. Everyone seems to have follow-up attacks for bravery and successful bravery assists can lead into a reverse chase mode, which is sort of confusing at first, but its a one-off attack anyway.

Also I've noticed a LOT of the Dueodecim videos online that have been posted by JP players seem to favor Empyreal Paradox.

Well, its is a pretty level and it has fewer obstructions than most.

Prishe's Battle Quotes. To get her to say the secret quotes, get her to 100 and buy them in the store. She will then randomly say them during her HP attacks instead of her normal quotes (for the last 8)

I tried to go back and play Dissidia to get some other characters levelled up...

Its so hard to do now, I miss the changes already.

Also, the guy voicing Gilgamesh sounds kinda like the one from XII but he doesn't seem as eccentric as he should be.

The only thing that saddens me about this game is that for all the new features.... online multiplayer still isn't one of them. Why SE kotows to PS3 Ad Hoc Party is beyond me, especially when everyone else that wants their multiplayer games to sell is giving up on AHP - as well they should.

Seriously, when your competition is launching with real online multiplayer in the same week, that doesn't look good on you.

So can you chain attacks more easily now? It was weird trying to do it in Dissidia as most combos involved stopping a multi-stage attack partway through (Zidane had a few that actually chained together naturally) as well as infinity combos that were just extremely cheap and stupid (Tidus, Zidane & Sephiroth were all grossly OP because of this)

Its just the sort of game I'd rather not have to constantly switch out, additionally, in light of NGP - which I'll probably get anyway - there's no point in purchasing UMDs and I have no faith PSP will survive NGP and 3DS no matter how much support Sony promises.

Nintendo promised the same thing with GBA once and while they did make good on keeping the hardware in production - no one made games for it after DS was out. The difference is DS Lite kept the GBA slot alive to this day, so at least people could still enjoy GBA games. Developers left GBA behind, but Nintendo did not.

Sony might still make PSPs, but in my mind since NGP doesn't support UMD, they really have abandoned PSP - what message does that send to developers?

Developers will leave PSP behind. Looking beyond Spring I really only have Final Fantasy Type-0, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and Persona 2: Innocent Sin to look forward too. I'll buy 'em digitally.

Its more accurate to say everyone has more options to do follow up attacks rather than in the sense that they chain into combos. The mages of the original game were particularly hampered by their inability to follow up their spells with another spell and Duodecim gives practically every characters some means of a follow-up move on Bravery attacks.

Additionally, Shantotto's HP attacks are actually projected directly from her than coming down from overhead, which proved to be an issue given how large and deep some battlefields were. Glad they fixed that.

Eh, Shantotto's biggest problem was she was simply too slow. She was one of the most powerful characters, but her attacks just couldn't land for crap.

Tidus & Zidane just destroyed everyone else in the 1st game. Just try and beat someone who's really good with them (especially Zidane) it's near-impossible unless you go for that wonky Iai Strike build with Cloud and even then that's incredibly risky and hard to pull off.

Yeah, well, while Bio is still slow, nothing else about her is now.

Additionally, many old attacks from familiar characters have been given new properties, such as draw in effects which are more effective the closer you are when they happen. Additionally, certain Bravery Assists can he used to push opponents into chase mode.

Don't get me wrong, Zidane is still a dodgy little punk, but I don't think he, Tidus and Sephiroth are going to be quite the problem they once were.

From what people who have played the JPN version and the leaked EU version lots of characters got changed

Zidane got nerfed. Swift Attack is much slower and it is nearly impossible to do the long ass chains from Dissidia that made him broken.

Terra got shot down the hole for all her aerial Brave moves. Gravity and Fire did get buffed though. Meteor got changed (they are more spread out).

Tidus is more or less the same. The nerfed Dodge and Throw in the air, but some of his other moves got tracking buffs. Jecht Shot has longer range

Shantotto's Stun can easily be canceled into Bio, Retrubution, A Couple of Attacks, Aero(and variants) and Stone(and variants). Manafont however acts like the mandragora summon, dropping your brave back to its base value, instead of just saving it.
