    Re: Guild Wars 2

I ended up on Pikain Square (or whatever it's called) because it's where all the EU Rpers decided to roll.

Can't wait for the guesting feature though

That would be gold farmers skimming the database for registered arenanet e-mails. Wish they would have an authenticator. :/ I got the same e-mail the night after early start.

Oddly enough, I requested a password reset myself, and got the exact same email leading me to the exact same page. I'm pretty careful about dealing with Phishing emails, but in this case I'm led to believe that it was the real deal.

There have been lots of reports of phishing emails going around lately.

Oddly enough, I just received a password reset email from ArenaNet that I didn't ask for, and I don't even own the game.

I bought the game to give it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised. Character creation was smooth, and becoming a slider jockey wasn't such an unbearable experience (I'm looking at you, TESV). Picking an 'heirloom' and answering the history questions was a nice twist. Overall, the game-play was enjoyable, both in combat, in quests, and collecting materials and crafting. One thing I enjoyed was how events flowed into one another, although some were close enough to others that they might trigger at the same time and post conflicting objectives, but because they repeat it's not a big deal.

Guardian was pretty whack. I had to deduce how most of the abilities worked, because they don't explain things in enough detail.

I gave PvP a try and I was a little disappointed. I didn't spend too much time in it, but I didn't like being handed a pre-set character to play with. I suppose it's a decent way to overcome massive amounts of level brackets, but I don't like having things handed to me.

Well I'm sorry for trying to coordinate things so we could all stomp around WvW together on a dedicated DiV server.

Sounds like folks are drifting off to servers their friends are already on. I may end up doing the same. I mostly picked Ehmry Bay b/c it sounded like it'd be a less popular server so we wouldn't have to worry about it filling up and someone getting left out in the cold. Sounds like that won't be a problem though since Guesting is on the way and folks are headed to different servers anyway, in which case I may join my friend over on Blackgate. Still kinda up in the air on that one, since it seems like it would attract more assholes and it's a higher population server.

Dunno, but I do know that this computer is pretty old; it was basically a hand-me-down from my dad some years ago. He's considering building himself a new rig (a bit worried since he can't run The Witcher 2 on maximum settings), so I may as well wait until he does so he can pass down the next best thing.

I imagine that it would be a bit awesome to not play GW2 slideshow edition any more.

Anyway, for anyone interested, my account name is "Pika Knight.5026", though I won't be playing tomorrow, and I'll be trying to jump shores to Crystal Beach Wednesday.

Before I go to bed, though, here are some Hero screens, my Mesmer one taken before I shut down the game for the night, and my Guardian shortly after I left his tutorial area (he's level 8 now with an accessory and stuff).

Apparently my computer doesn't meet "minimum system requirements." I'll have to look into that later . . .

By the way, just as a word of warning, GW2 already has a Brady Guide . . .

Nope. Something is going wrong there. Try updating your drivers and adjusting the video options in-game?

Ha, I was wondering how long it would be until I started hearing the server referred to as that.

My Charr is named Kor Iron Snout, and I forget my account name with the numbers. I'll look that up and get back to you.
