Re: New Monster Hunters...
Played the Tri demo, first MH game I've tried, wasn't incredibly impressed but that is probably because I got thrown right into a mission without knowing anything about what was going on.
Got the game today and will be playing cooperatively with my BF. Should be fun to play together atleast

Ya, he's hooked gdi. I told him to get his own but he can't afford it right now. His POS "new" used car is f**ked up....that will teach you to not listen to your mother when she says BUY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD and DON'T BUY OUT OF STATE..../sigh

wont happen, once you start "the hunt" then thats it, your lost ;pOriginally posted by TheGrandMom View PostWas finally able to get my Monster Hunter Tri.......just to get it away from my son now...
I dont get why I love this game so much..... its as much, if not more repetitive then Phantasy Star Universe.... and thats hard to do ;p
but I love the way monsters react to you when you fight, its never really the same thing twice.

Re: New Monster Hunters...
*sigh* morons -.-
Well I logged in to just see if the online part worked, and it does fine, but one thing they changed, that I kind of liked about the one on PS2....
before you had ..was it up to 30? in one town, and people joined your group by the bulletin board, but now its make your own city instance, and 3 others can join into it, so its just you and 3 others in the whole "city"
I cant wait to see if we get Monster Hunter Frontier, because that will be the truly epic Monster Hunter.
just he fact that it gets updates with new monsters, weapons, and armor, alone make it better then the others.

Re: New Monster Hunters...
The employees I dealt with are newer than the ones I usually deal with at this particular store. Very, very part-time. I don't think they know what they're supposed to do, personally.Originally posted by Kailea View PostGod that sucks, I know the one I work on the side does not do that... but I know some that do, they don care about the preorders like they are suppose to -.-
At ours, we take all the preorders and put them in a separate drawer, and the normal shipment where the games normally go, so we don't get them mixed up.
If you had it preordered, there should have been no reason for there not to be one, because I bet all the bundles where preoreded ones, and they just sold them to who ever asked.
I went with Gamestop on this one for the $5 off when you pre-ordered, the controller and the 500 Nintendo points card that was coming with it. That was the only reason I went with GS on this one. It was a good deal.
I just rolled over my preorder to MGS: Peace Walker LE - they better not fuck that up. In fact, checking my receipt, I think they did. So I'll have to go back out there tomorrow and fix that. Good thing I had to go by another store in that strip mall anyway or it would just be a wasteful trip.

So I'm just saving most of that money toward my Wii now and grabbing the Classic controller pro on its own in the weeks to come.

Re: New Monster Hunters...
been playing off and on today, already got me a full set of that bug armor, and made the axe/shield from that bird...dragon....chicken...thing ;p also got me a full set of the armor and weapon made by the first rapters you fight the Jaggi I think they are called this time?
Its a fun game, but yes can be very hard, and sometimes you will get the "WTF just happened" moments ;p

Re: New Monster Hunters...
I think you'll like it, personally. Yeah it has a high difficulty (especially later on) but that shouldn't deter you from trying it. Granted, I admit... if I hadn't had a friend to play with I'd never have gotten anywhere. It's a simple game w/ hidden complexities... I learn something new almost everytime I play.

Re: New Monster Hunters...
Well, this is actually sounding interesting to me, so I may rent it to give it a shot. I love free-to-play online games and I want to support them so even if it's not the best game ever I may still buy it.

Re: New Monster Hunters...
I think you could liken it to Demon's Souls. The heavier weapons are slower and more difficult to wield, and you'll spend more time dodging attacks than soaking them up. You'll want to avoid all the trash monsters, but they'll probably get you anyways.

And it's nothing like FF. Maybe kinda like Crisis Core, but not really. lol.
And I'm basing my comments on boss fights. Trash mobs are worthless and a waste of time, you can kill that shit with your eyes closed. For boss fights, where is a surprising amount of strategy involved.
That probably doesn't help you very much. :D
oh god... the big dragons...... mommy.....
First time back on PS2 when I had one of the big ones yell in my face ...... I ran so fast!
