It's somewhat Zelda-ish hack and slash (depending on your weapon choice), but the distinct lack of lock-on is what makes people pull their hair out.

And it's nothing like FF. Maybe kinda like Crisis Core, but not really. lol.

And I'm basing my comments on boss fights. Trash mobs are worthless and a waste of time, you can kill that shit with your eyes closed. For boss fights, where is a surprising amount of strategy involved.

That probably doesn't help you very much. :D

It's just that, from the gameplay videos I've seen, it looks like a mixture of the two. But I guess I'm wrong.

Probably not.

To be honest, a lot of people are turned off by how difficult it is. This is definitely not a time = skill type of game. I still get frustrated at MHFU and I've been playing MH games since the first one on PS2.

But who knows. Try to get your hands on a demo disc and give it a try, maybe you'll like it.

Well its out ^.^ (will pick up copy in 2 hours) I cant wait, I messed with the JP version a little bit, but could not get into it (could not go online with that version and I would have to start over anyway with the US version)

if you see me wave, I will be a slightly tanned female named Kailea (of course) and about 90% of the time I am a Blade Master.

wont be online till later tonight though, after I do my little bit of work I have for today, I am going to play it for a good bit and get myself started, before going online.
