That's just for the 360, but PS3 received similar user reviews. The PC version got a whopping 1.8 out of 10, presumably for Infinity Ward's inability to understand their target market or anything at all about PC gaming.
I heartily agree with most of their user reviews. It's fun, but they made no attempt at reinventing the wheel. It's disappointing, but there are too many games that came before it that hit the nail firmly on the head. Tribes and Battlefield are the first that come to mind, but there are many others.
From what I've heard, a lot of people are bitching about how absurdly powerful the kill streaks are now and how it wrecks the pacing of what would be an otherwise frantic experience.
What? No.. maybe if you suck and you can't get a killstreak. But, a lot of the rewards you can simply get in a dropbox and that's only 4 kills..
Going from what a college friend has said, the PS3 is pretty lag-free so far and sounds like the best version to go for out of the three
It's lag free.. but not problem free. They didn't beta it on PS3 so whether or not that has to contribute to the first 3 days of servers going down, party system failing, mics going out, trophies not working, rolling disconeccts.. and booting people in the lobby.

FW, are all those problems you mentioned just for the PC version? I'm sometimes loath to get stuff on the 360 when it's also on PS3 since despite the fact that I have way more friends on 360 and can chat with them, online gaming on my PS3 is virtually lag-free.
But so far it's sounding like MW2 is suffering from the same problems that made me quit playing Resistence 2 online - broken as fuck perks/kill streaks. I seriously hated the games where high level players would come and would have either the Rocket Launcher or Plasma Cannon set as their berserks. All they had to do was fire 1 shot into a crowd of people and BAM it's ready for use again...
Or am I the only one who takes issue with being given the ability to kick even more ass when you're already kicking everyone's asses? Like they said on GT, this crap is self-perpetuating and that's just wrong. You can even get a tactical nuke apparently! WTF IS THAT ABOUT?!

And yeah the kill stream rewards are absurdly broken. It pretty much guarantees that the losing team won't be making a comeback if the dominant side is even slightly competent.. It's also perfectly possible to spawn directly in the line of sight of a harrier or helicopter. I once died five times in a row from this in the Pripyat map. Then I died again to someone spamming M203 grenades over a hedgerow.
The predator missiles also makes Sniper Rifles useless since whoever has one can instantly see where you are taking shots from and can track you as you try to sneak off to another place. you are pretty much forced between blowing your cover and getting mowed down while running for it or keeping your cover and getting hit by said missile because you're outdoors.
If you haven't already guessed I like the "sneaky bastard" playstyle of sneaking up on people and ganking them with knives and silenced SMGs or laying low in a good sniper spot and picking off other players or ambushing people and running out of there before they find my nest. I also like to have fun dropping claymores and C4 in the most inconvenient places possible for the other side :3 . Basically hit and run stuff.
I used to love doing that in CoD4 but the lag in the PC version makes it impossible to play anything other than the spray and pray approach and the new killstreaks make the stealth perks obsolete (especially the Predator and AC-130)
hmmm. some RL tactical info, that suprisngly apply's to MW2.
Red dots - Great for Snap to engagements (I.E. you enter a room, and so does an enemy and you "snap" the rifle up to your eye.
EoTechs (or Holographic)- Great for Light Machine gun's, 249's, belt feed automatics. The reticle is larger than the red dot which gives you more of an area affect, which is useful with a defensive weapon like a belt feed weapon.
ACoG's (I love mine in RL, hate it in Game) Great for accurate Assault rifles, I find myself having to many close quarters engagements with my personal play style (mostly fast moving flanking maneuvers I keep unlimited sprints and often quickness on fulltime for my perks, even sacrificing stoping power) to warant an ACoG.
If you find your self maneuvering to positions to hold them, and those positions have clear lanes of sight and not alot of back entrances, ACoG's will usually pay for themselves.
Therm- Personally feel like it's a waste on anything but a sniper, or a belt fed weapon. The effectiveness of seeing "heat ghosts" is often moot if your seeing an enemy, then "snaping" up your weapon to engage them... in thermal.
The point of therms is to see the enemy before they see you, also, you go from regular vision to thermal vision and that transition takes another inital reaction change that can and should be eliminated. You get the most from this sight by staying "in" the sight, if that makes sense.
Heart beat sensor- Mini Radar i guess, I haven't unlocked this attachment, but it was nice in single player, have never seen anything like this in RL yet, although something simliar probably exist's.
As far as squad tactics go an Ideal 6 man team would be 1 harasser, 2 Heavy guns posted to prevent flanking, and either 3 Assault rifle's, or 2 assault rifles and 1 sniper, Depending on skill and map. Attachments should be based on enviroment. Houses? I'd have my Assault rifles put on red dots. Sub Base- Therms for the Heavys and snipers. The harasser (my fav role) sub-machine gun, shotgun, and silencer, depending on map, the perk that blocks you from radar.
Posted up in the top floor of a house, and killed 2 guys? Move to the bottom and wait for them to try and get revenge. I assure you they'll be checking those 2nd floor windows before they're checking the bottom floor. It's human nature
Not pushing forward and moving the other teams spawn with patience and team work will pay off imensely. Hard to do in pickup matches. but if you have a dedicated 6, try out some actually squad based tactics. you'll be surprised at how effective they translate into this videogame.
I have only one config for my rifle, mostly because I haven't unlocked enough different combinations of accessories, but also because most of them aren't very useful. Red dot and holographic are exactly the same, and the silencer is like attaching suicide to your weapon. The heartbeat sensor is unreliable and slow, which leaves you open to fast, roaming players. The thermal vision is only useful on large, grassy levels where it can be helpful to distinguish between player and environment. For most of my rifle needs, a sight will easily suffice.
Why would you need so many configurations of the same gun?
Depends, sometimes I want Bling and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I want the heartbeat sensor on and sometimes I don't. It really depends on how good I'm doing in the match and how difficult the map is.
Dunno, if I remember right, the SCAR is one of the guns I used to use on Battlefield: BC when I played as Specialist. Those were the days...
DakAttack;863432]Also#2, does the ACOG scope seem like it makes your accuracy worse? I get a slightly better zoom, but it looks like it's putting a crazy spread on my bursts. It makes it more difficult to hit things.[/quote]
When I was using the FAMAS, I got on the airport level right after I got the ACOG and I got a rediculous amount of headshots, probably mainly because of the narrow hallways.
I'm glad somebody has seen one online. I've seen it in youtube videos, but they were all two player games played offline. I'll post my kit when I get home. Can you unlock extra custom kit slots like on MW1? I think on the first MW you could unlock 5 extra slots when you get to a certain rank. I need to better define my kits, on MW1 I had maybe 4 kits that I used and one of them was a different configuration of the same gun. I think after I unlocked the SCAR, I reset all my FAMAS kits around the SCAR.
Why would you need so many configurations of the same gun?
Also, WTF @ the Scar. Way to be completely inaccurate, buddy. I'll just stick to the BADAS.
